Awkward Hand Poses Showing Polish Swatches
My boyfriend is watching back seasons of Survivor. What is wrong with him? Who watches old reality TV? Am I wrong for thinking this crazy? Well, I blog and constantly talk about make-up, to some that is really weird also. I ended up painting my fingertips with Zoya's Pandora polish while trying to ignore the incessant bickering of the airheads on the show.
I tend to paint my nails about 2 to 3x a week, depending on the formula's durability and how much I end up washing dishes or other chores. I find the methodically layering three thin coats of polish plus base and top coat while watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones or the Vampire Diaries extremely relaxing. I look forward to it.
I love to share off my colors, but just how to show off those nails is extremely annoying. Every pose is awkward and stiff. I usually do one of the poses above, resulting in alright photos that show the color, shine and opacity of the polish itself. But, what about my hands? I call the top photo "The Claw" and prefer this method. It makes my slightly chubby and prone to salt-induced swelling, look a bit thinner but I also look like I might swipe at your face in some Cat Woman move or something. It's a bit Cruella DiVille to me.
The second photo is less scary and harsh but shows off any puffiness. It is approachable, but boring.
You can always show something else off while modeling your nailbeds. This is sort of 'meh' too. (Also, look at my lovely doggie portrait in the back)
I see a lot of other bloggers hold on to expensive jewelry or technology in a "look at how wealthy I am" way or a (they think) sneaky way to throw in a promotion or advert while writing about another product/topic. Whatever. Aesthetically this is often a good choice. My plastic jewels aren't remotely expensive or that great looking, but it is more interesting than my spread out sausage fingers and provides a cool pop of color against my wooden orange back drop. I dig the color combo.
Oooh, fancy hands.
I have never seen anyone do this before, but I would say this is the beauty-blogger equivalent to this photo. I guess, this could also be an ad placement. *Hint hint* Kotex. Just be aware of what is in your background or foreground when you take pictures and make sure it isn't unbelievably awkward like the photo above and below.
Dainty hand pose amongst feminine hygiene products.
How should I show off polish? You never realize just how odd or pudgy your hands are until they are the center piece of a photo being broadcast to the word. I'm definitely not hand model material.
Vanilla is a scent I personally love, but did you know that vanilla can actually stimulate your amorous appetite and make you feel more capable of showing love to your partner? Because Vanilla is connected to our heart, throat, and crown chakras, the aroma can open your soul to the love and beauty in the world around you. It is one of the few scents that bring about the magic of love in its numerous forms, from childhood memories to romantic relationships.
