Okay, so I was rereading Harry Potter (again) and I came across this sentence that I hadn't given much thought about.
“Hermione had actually progressed to vanishing kittens”
And obviously that got me thinking, instead of killing someone, or even just hexing someone that annoys you, couldn’t you just, you know, vanish them?
We know that vanished objects go into non-being; or everything, and we know that vanishing objects is a really difficult spell to learn, since it isn't taught until O.W.L. year, and we know that if you vanish something, it isn't really gone, because you could conjure it back. (e.g. Bill vanishing the orders plans from the dinner table in TOotP to hide them from view) but what we don't know is if vanishing living creatures kill them. I mean I’d like to think that McGonagall isn't one to kill live animals just for a class, but to each their own.
So I ask my question again: could you vanish a person if they just annoyed you? Because as far as I know, and I could be very wrong, you don't have to mean the spell for vanishing like you do the killing curse.
I mean I put way to much thought into this, and since pottermore didn't cover vanishing in the list of spells it goes over, i’m left being curious
