&&. ââ â LUCIUS MALFOY ; moodboard ! â ft. himself and emma vanity. â
M O O D B O A R D Â ; Â RELATIONSHIP A --
EMMA VANITY & LUCIUS MALFOY, MONEYED YOUTH WITH NOTHING TO DO.
âEmma is a storm, and not in a beautifully poetic way. Sheâs temperamental and volatile and mean -- so bad for my pride sometimes, but I keep her around. Weâre both incredibly good looking people who know what they want, a great dynamic, Iâd say. And she may not know it, or call bullshit on me, but Iâm here for the prat. But really, when is Emma âKickassâ Vanity ever going to need saving?â
& a message to any sirius applicants who are worried about getting the role---of /course/ there's a possibility you won't, but rest assured that if that does happen, we would all still LOVE to see you apply for a different character or an oc because honestly we all get insanely excited when we get new members/characters/people/etc and just ok pls come here let me love you pls you're all precious just comE HERE
Itâs true, itâs all true. Itâs crazy how much we want all of you here with us.
"Marriage is overrated, anyway."
âExcuse you, marriage is the most beautiful thing that can happen. Itâs like making a deal with the devil except â â He let out a sigh, dropping his head into his hand and taking another long drink. âWho am I kidding? She said no, Vanity! Telling me marriage is overrated just makes me want to get married more. Iâve been planning this moment since fourth year, which, by the way, you can never mention to the gang. Merlin, I bought doves. What am I supposed to do with them now? Iâm pretty sure they know where I live.âÂ
He shoved his guitar to the side ( because why did it matter, if he couldnât even play the stupid song heâd written ) and returned to his pity party. âMarriage isnât overrated. Iâm overrated, and no, Iâm not throwing a tantrum right now, so stop looking at me that way. JustâŚavoid the m-word, yeah?â
Defend
Defend : Emma Vanity
Lucius Malfoy, the volatile Slytherin, was always known to be rather self-motivated. Damn near everything he did was for his own sake, never beneficial to those parties outside of himself â and people knew it, he knew it. And maybe that was wrong of him, selfish even â yes, incredibly selfish, but he was simply never motivated to help others. Personal loyalty resonated not with him, an empty marriage of words that should have meant something to him but didnât.
Because of it, people loved theorize on their own why it was that Lucius didnât seem to care to act on the behalf of others but himself. Among them, some claimed he was a greedy boy, an affliction had in him for wanting all and everything to himself and for himself. Others said he lacked the emotional capacity to act outside of himself â and that was his own, personal favorite.
Nevertheless, it was on behalf of this self-motivation that when time passed, a thousand suns had risen and fell, and his memories of youth were distant â far off, incandescent things of the past, that he had nearly allowed his own friend to die.Â
Despite having felt rather estranged to Emma Vanity in his earlier years at Hogwarts, the two had always remained rather close in some way â tied together by some invisible string. Whether it be by their cause, or their sport, or their academics, they were nearly almost always together.
And being stuck with each for some time, companionship was met.Â
They learned to support each other â both in their uniquely individual ways, but nevertheless. She, after all, never missed his wedding when the time came, nor the birth of his son, and neither did she dare abandon him when time came for the pair to send their own children off to Hogwarts.
But he didnât always share in this loyalty.
Granted, he counted her a close friend â always, but as it had been mentioned, he had an affliction. Yes, it wasnât for a long time that he finally became the friend he should have, when Emma was held at the point of a wand by a Mulciber â or maybe it had been a Lestrange.Â
Nevertheless, it had been a simple misunderstanding between the two, but those under the Dark Lord had a tendency to trigger easily. And they did when Emma all but showed them up, and she had always been rather good at that. Though, Lucius, remained ignorant to issue, onlooking even as the confrontation occurred.
He was self-motivated. Yes, incredibly so.
But something moved him to act that evening, a stirring of conscience when he pulled Emma aside, his face unintelligible as he stared â simply stared into the eyes of her challenger, with heart secretly thumping a mile a minute in the confines of his chest. Lucius was no coward, but no idiot either.Â
This was an outright call for retaliation.Â
Yet, nothing had happened. The space cleared, wands fell to their former places of origin, and the tension ( thick enough to cut with a knife ) had subsided. It had been the first time Lucius ever did something purely for the sake of another.Â
And it felt good â - right.
5, 11, 35, 44
5 - What were you doing at 11PM last night?
â More like âwhoâ. Nah, Iâm just having you on - spent all of last night balls deep in some essay I forgot to hand in towards the end of last term. Canât remember what I wrote about but I remember looking at it around 11PM and congratulating myself on four hundred lines of complete and utter bullshit. â
11 - You can only drink ONE liquid for the rest of your life - what is it?
â Fizzy water. Iâd go all out and pick some expensive brand of high quality liquor but thatâd mean condemning myself to the fresh hell of an eternal hangover. Youâre alright, thanks. â
35 - How many more days until your birthday?
â You looking to buy me a gift? Canât be bothered counting them out but I graced the cavernous walls of my motherâs lady canal circa 3AM on the 23rd of September. â
44 - If you had to get a piercing (not ears), what would you get?
â Iâd say bellybutton but I already went to town on that fiddly little bastard with a budgie badge. Smelled like someone took a dump up under my shirt for four weeks but I gained a valuable life-lesson and a fun story to tell my mumâs side of the family over dinner so Iâd call that a win. â
