someone she wants to protect, most definitely. lucina is someone whose purity she both idolizes and hates. lucina is the type of person who thinks she can change people, without ever first considering that such a mindset is entirely normal for someone of a different cultural background, a different species, that change is not needed. she is not the sort that can accept the love of life and gore and war as nina has. she understands that, lucina is the sort that lives for her own sort of hope, for rejecting the negativities of one's past and carving their own fate, and has berated nina for returning to her roots, she knows that. but, they accept each other, in a way. their relationship is careful, and will never be anything more than that.
