s been hard to draw lately when it seems like no matter how close I get to improving past basic rendering, something still looks wrong to me. trapped in a loop of wanting to draw to get better but not wanting to draw anything I like until I get better. at least I have more modern Vant examples, showing the bodily changes when he's feeling not so hot, wings reattach to his back and not so glowy.
Apical Sun Deity, Bal Dragon
this armor was not next, despite being a white armor. but after noticing its an upgrade to the standard armor, it wasn't as hopeless to parse the design. Bal Saucer Infinity Strike uses the same armor and a disc so this is cheating a bit, but the disc is also in an armorless card so this is the only way i'd ever add it during this project.
not my best Bal art, but the goal was speed while staying detailed. thought I was done with white armors but turns out "The Ideal Invincible Dragon, Bal Dragon" is some sort of fusion/retrain of the base white armor, so it counts.

inspired by another flamedramon-like oc I follow, as well as the commission I got from Rokuro, I wanted to sketch a quick example of Saby using his unique physical move, created from his asymmetrical armor composition. (i feel like giving flamey gas lighters as accessories is a common oc tactic, but like, if it works, it works.)
Filmon truly doesn't get enough well deserved attention. he gets to be my test subject while I practice shading today.
just more practice shading with the modern Saby design, saby being flirty and flexible as usual.
(he's not showing hole i promise! hes just got a weird birthmark. its like how people draw cats with the lil * or x on the butt)
another Appreciate a Dragon Day has come and gone, and as usual I barely make it in time or miss it completely. was practicing shading while once again making my yearly adjustment to my sona, now he's back to four fingies and got retractable thumblike claws on his hands and feet, because I just couldn't commit to the five finger life I guess.
