Just a short collection of headcanons on how Vanya would be in a relationship.
Vanya and you started to date during the summer season.
You took fishing lessons from him, and the multiple meetings made you fall for each other rather quickly. He was the one who asked you out on smaller dates, and you were the one asking him to be official one day during a candlelight dinner in town.
You two have a cute dynamic with each other. Vanya would be the calm and sweet one and keep you grounded if you aren't already matching him. Most of the time his presence greatly relaxes you.
While he's out fishing, he would sometimes text you cute messages, reminding you to stay hydrated and take breaks. Occasionally he sneaks in a cute picture of himself too. Meanwhile you would make sure to cook a hearty meal for when he would return.
His love language would include quality time and physical touch (mostly in private). If he wasn't occupied with fishing or teaching other people, he would be right at your side, spending the day with you. If you would cook, he's already hugging you from behind, chin on your shoulder as he gently enjoys your presence.
It is somewhat impossible to have an argument with Vanya as he is very patient and doesn't get upset if you happen to slip with your words or get emotional. In fact, he had a soothing way of handling things and every issue is mended before you even realized it.
Vanya his favourite things about you could fill a whole list. If you ask him why he loves you, he would casually run down every point with a gentle smile while you're melting from the cuteness alone. The main thing that made him fall for you, was your very passionate excitement about learning how to fish from him. These small encounters really had an impact on him.
Lots of communication in this relationship. He would always ask for your opinion, your 6 your wishes. You look down? He doesn't brush it off, no. He instantly is next to you with your favourite hot drink and is gently asking you what is wrong. He would also make sure that you two are always on one page, even at smaller things. You always decide on date ideas together thanks to that.

summary: hc’s for Vanya taking care of her sick girlfriend
Very attentive to your needs and will literally drop everything to take care of you
Tucks you into bed and makes sure you’re super comfy. Once you’re tucked in you’re not getting out. Vanya refuses to have you lift a single finger during this time
She’s very organized and well-equipped so she probably has any cold or flu medicine you might need in her cabinet. If not, she doesn’t mind running down to the pharmacy to pick something up
Because her siblings were often busy training or going on missions, Vanya spent a lot of time with her mother as a kid, and because of this she picked up a thing or two in the kitchen
As a result she makes the best soup that not only tastes good but is sure to have you better in no time
If there are any chores around the house you can’t get to right now because you’re sick then she also has no problem doing it herself
If you want her to cuddle up with you in bed she’ll have no problem doing so. She loves holding you in her arms, even more so when you happen to doze off on her chest
If you don’t want to cuddle in fear of her getting sick but still want her nearby she’ll pull up a chair and sit by your bed
She’ll do anything to keep you entertained while you’re stuck in bed resting. Whether that be reading a book with you, putting on your favorite movie, or even playing her violin for you
Vanya does all of this and more because she knows you’d do the exact same thing for her, and you have
Vanya can’t even recall how many times you’ve taken care of her when it came to her physical health and her mental health
This is the least she can do
So you’re in luck, because having Vanya as a girlfriend means you’re always going to be taken care of!

My brain is still 100% fully on board with the “Vanya fosters kittens” thing I mentioned in another post because I mean,, a big part of her just wants to feel like she belongs and that she’s needed, and some little baby animals who are reliant on her for food and warmth and life? She’d be a really good an attentive foster mama for them
she ends up adopting a kitten from one of the litters she fosters as a emotional support cat. His name is Godric and he’s the stupidest orange boy cat in the entire universe, just absolutely nothing going on between those ears except wanting to be petted and a fondness for laps. Godric is v good with foster kittens and is very patient and allows them to climb all over him. Diego says it’s because Godric doesn’t even notice they’re there when they’re out of his sight which,, might not be entirely incorrect
just really sinfully dumb
Orange Idiot is Diego’s alley cat and Godric absolutely fucking adores him, and the reverse is quietly true in the fact that Orange doesn’t just maul Godric into next week when the other tom scampers over to rub on him while purring loudly
Vanya teaches Five to play the violin when he quietly signs up for lessons with her. She’s honestly really thrilled by the fact that he’s trying to share this with her because honestly most of her siblings probably weren’t actually head over heels to learn about her life’s passion and all that. At least now her siblings do insist of her letting them know when she has a concert going on so they can all attend (especially Allison)
After Diego, Vanya is the one closest to Grace. After all, whenever the others were having training she wasn’t permitted to take part in it was Grace who she hung out with. And it was Grace who made sure to compliment Vanya on her playing and comfort her when Vanya came to her in tears.
(“I’m just ordinary.” Vanya tells her, in tears, after a very long day. “Well your music certainly isn’t.” Grace says absently, cooking dinner one night. Vanya blinks her tears away in surprise, and then proceeds to absolutely throw herself into learning the violin like she hadn’t before - more inspired than she’s ever been in her life)
Deceptively strong stomach. Will bite into chili peppers without flinching. Has 100% passive aggressively made a really spicy dish because she knows that Diego can’t handle anything really spicy but is the kind of person who will grit his teeth and suffer through it because he doesn’t want to be shown up by her. Also can hold her alcohol super well.
(Luther can’t handle spicy food well, Diego has a spice threshhold that when passed he just dies and he will never admit where that line is, Allison enjoys some spicy dishes but will freely admit her tolerance levels, Klaus is sort of ??????, Ben and Vanya will eat the hottest of hot things without even flinching, Five’s tastebuds were pretty much burned off in the apocalypse and you probably have to point out that something is spicy to get him to notice but when he was a kid he only ate very mildly spicy things)
Actually Vanya is one of the most decent cooks out of all the siblings. Luther ate moon rations for years. Diego cracked an egg straight into his mouth. Klaus ate a dumpster bagel. Five ate cockroaches. I’m not sure about Allison, she and Vanya at least seemed to have reasonable taste in food. SO yeah, Vanya is one of the more decent cooks in the family and she helps Grace out with dinner sometimes that’s what I have on that.
Eventually gets a few tattoos of her own after everything is said and done. Maybe not the tattoo the others have - maybe it’s something more symbolic and inclusive, like six umbrella crossed behind a violin or something? I just want her to have something I don’t know

A TUA (the Umbrella Acdemy) and Harry Potter crossover Headcanon
This is after Reginald puts her on the medication, and she’s deemed “ordinary”
• Vanya gets her Hogwarts letter and decides “well I’m definitely going no matter what! what do I have to lose?”
• Decides to make a fake letter from some XYZ boarding school so Hargreeves is like 🤔
• If that doesn’t work she’ll ask Allison to rumor Reggie into letting her go
• Goes to Diagonally on her own,(or maybe Five drops her off?) exchanging money she borrowed stole from Reginald
• Made a friend 👀 (I have a OC ready lmaoooo)
• Got her wand (!!!!)
And then waited until school started
• School starts and it’s also the year the 8th years were in school
Vanya would have gone to Hogwarts 3 years after the war, more or less, and that would have been probably enough time for repairs and getting the government back in track, or as much as it can.

• There’s a girl she met at Diagon that got sorted into Slytherin 👀
(Her name is Leilani, she’s a girl with long black hair and little streaks of midnight blue in it, milk chocolate skin, and brown eyes. She also happens to live near Vanya, and Leilani, “Call me Lani”, is surprised that she hadn’t met Vanya prior to then…) Last name Raj???
• The elder years look at the younger ones with a slight smile (were we ever that young??)
•Vanya tends to keep to herself but her roommates are so nice, and the prefects tried their best to be helpful and supportive. ( Also She talked to a nice 7th year named Luna Lovegood)
(Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy took Lani under their Wings) I love Draco so like 👀
• Vanya took to Luna and a girl named Kami Moss, who happens to be her roommate
• Professor Flitwick (the charms teacher) and Headmistress McGonagall are her favorite teachers
• it was in Vanya’s second year that Flitwick had noticed her abilities
• When they found out they got her a tutor, the same one Leilani has for her musical magic
Her name is Desai Hope and she’s a 23-year-old witch, who happens to be half Merperson, and specializes in Musical Magic (that has to do with sound waves and all that Jazz) She has short blonde hair with streaks of ocean blue in it, blue-green eyes, and is a tiny ball of energy. (she’s 5′2) she has a rather soothing voice, and tends to talk in metaphors to confuse the hell out of people then laughs about it later.
•Those two met a Hufflepuff boy who was also learning under her,
His name is Luca Terry, and he is a brunette boy with pale green eyes that are framed with turquoise round wire-rimmed glasses. He plays guitar, and loves learning about the muggle world, (he is a pureblood, but sort of similar to the Weasley’s)
Together, Vanya, Lani, and Luca were the newest Trio of Hogwarts.
(Draco becomes the Potion teacher 3 years after he graduated and Harry becomes the DADA Teacher around the same time, also Neville is the assistant herbology teacher) ok moving on
• In the summer before 4th year, Vanya had stopped Five from leaving with Time Travel by running after him and explaining the dangers of time travel (she knew because of guest talks by Hermione during History of Magic class) and there may or may not have been tears involved
Crisis 1 averted
• When she came home for Easter vacations they Umbrella Academy had been called on a mission and Reginald had decided to bring Vanya along
( To see if she had “changed”)
{Sometimes he felt like he was not in control of number 7 but he always became distracted pretty fast so that thought process never went too far…}
•Vanya saw that Ben was about to get seriously hurt and no one was noticing (if anything Reginald looked INTRIGUED)
•She had to do some quick thinking (Ron had a soft spot for her, hopefully, he’ll be the person to fetch her, or maybe Dersai will?)
•"Nixie!“ She called for her favorite house elf, the one who loves to get ribbons and bow ties, and Nixie apparated her to the site and she shouted a "Projecto!” just as Ben turned
• And Leilani had popped in with Nixie, (when did Nixie even leave?),
° “In for a Knut, in for a Galleon?” Leilani asks with a smirk, brandishing her wand and throwing Vanya hers
“Why not, Kingsley loves us,” Leilani laughs a truly wicked laugh and they fight off the other criminals with ease.
• Before Reginald or the others could even think to talk to Vanya, two Aurors pop in and the girls give their most innocent smiles letting Nixie pop away with their wands.
° “Let’s go, little Missies,” Seamus winks and Dean shakes his head fondly.
And they spend the rest of their holiday with the teachers at Hogwarts. Luca comes to visit them, and they sing songs in Hogsmeade for fun. (Mostly covers of Muggle songs, but the Wizards love them!)
Vanya knows she’ll have to answer a lot of questions at the end of the school year, but she couldn’t bring herself to care.
But maybe she had scheduled summer classes with Dersai on purpose but nobody has to know that
And Leilani is always there with Nixie to offer her sanctuary

a/n: I wasn’t really sure what to do with this as there wasn’t a plot included so I just settled with hc’s. hope you don’t mind!
You guys met at an underground concert when you were teens, both looking for a hideaway from your problems
You were actually playing in one of the bands as the guitarist and immediately captured her attention
Klaus, the one responsible for bringing innocent little Vanya to such a seedy location, noticed this right away and somehow managed to get the two of you introduced
You thought she was the cutest thing you’d ever seen— the way her gaze kept to the ground, too shy and intimidated by you to maintain eye contact, and you could almost could hardly hear her speak over the music
She compliments you on your performance and your talent as well as your outfit and appearance. She’s never really met anyone like you, but she knows that she’s hooked
You become friends almost instantly, and after a few late night drives and trips to cheap twenty four hour diners you become a couple
It was kept a secret for the most part for Vanya knew her father would never approve of her being in any sort of relationship, especially not with someone like you who would “only be a bad influence”
You both support each other endlessly. You go to all of her shows and she goes to all of yours, and you maybe buy about twenty copies of her book just because you can
She may or may not even dedicate it to you

When she’s sad or upset you always hold her close and tight in your arms until she feels better
When you’re sad she gives you little at home concerts on her violin and it calms you down a lot
You always stick up for her no matter what, and that honestly leads to a lot of spats between you and Diego whenever he picks on her
You’re fiercely protective over her, so it kind of shocks you when you find out she has powers
But hey, now you’ve gotta super cute and powerful girlfriend and what could be better than that?
You get the stamp of approval from Five, Allison, and Klaus, the only approval you care about
Basically you’re both very happy together 10/10 girlfriends Vanya loves you
• I’ve always seen Leilani as a daughter of a professional cello player (her mom) and a politician (her dad) with her dad being a wizard and her mom being a muggle
• Both her parents are very successful, so money is never an issue for them
• When they met Vanya they are overjoyed that their daughter has a good friend, Leilani’s old friends from Muggle School only wanted to be friends so they could go over to her house and play with her stuff. (Because her house was huge, and she had all the latest things ) Although, they were only the things she liked though so they quickly stopped talking to her
• Vanya explained the situation to Leilani’s parents and they were more than happy to help, even going as far as to say that they would take her if anything happens
• it’s also why, where they save Ben, Leilani throws Vanya her wand. Because she had her wand at her house so when Nixie came to get her she grabbed her’s and Vanya’s

° In the summer of 3rd year, Leilani vists the Umbrella Academy to hang out with Vanya. (Reggie happens to have to go on a week long business trip)
• Leilani being dead convinced Allison is part veela

• Leilani: *following Allison around with a little notebook and a book about Veela’s in her pocket, because she’s a total dork*
“I swear Van, there is no way your sister isn’t a Veela! I mean look at her! Her hair is gorgeous, and her skin practically GLOWS”
Vanya: *Looks into the camera like she’s in the office*

° At the end of 5th year, Harry finally finishes his ‘secret’ project
Converting the Black Family Home into an orphanage
• The point is to make sure that kids don’t have to go back to bad situations like Tom Riddle, Sirius, and Harry and the cupboard
• They take in kids from all around the world, mostly orphans but also those who were wronged by those who are supposed to care for them
• Currently only for magical Children but Harry hopes to expand so that he can take in Muggle children as well
• The kids would be educated in both the wizarding and muggle world
(Draco teaches them about visiting culture, customs, and traditions. Harry teaches them basic common sense, and how to do many chores and such. Dean Thomas and Hermione will come and teach them about muggle stuff. Alot of their friends help out and it’s a whole community)
• Vanya brings Muggle pop culture, movies, books, songs, and toys. Comics and fun little crafts.
• They all make sure that the kids k ow their roots, teaching each one about where they came from and their culture.
• Harry calls the kids “Ducklings” and the name stuck. Draco just stands off to the side.

• When they hear about Reginald, Vanya has to physically stop Harry and Draco from going and burning down The Umbrella Academy
Leilani is off to the side with a foam hand like “BURN IT DOWN” and Vanya is like 🤦
• Vanya spends the summer there while Reginald sends an insane amount of letters to random places trying to gain access to a new weapon (for the apocalypse)

° Telling the Umbrella Academy kids
• she tried to at first (when she got her letter), but remember that scene with Vanya going in all those rooms and the baby umbrella Academy kids all tell her to leave because they’re ‘busy’? Basically, the same thing happened, only a bit nicer (Five’s like “I’ll talk to you later Vanya!”)
• she decides to not actively keep it a secret but not outright say it, after all, if they want to see it, they will. People are so easily fooled.
• Like she does get Allison’s Help with the Rumor thing, but she thinks Vanya is going to a school for science or something
• After she saves Ben (4th year, Easter holidays), Reginald is obliviated and the kids aren’t, but Harry ends up coming and picking her up and taking her to the orphanage 3 weeks after school ends
• She offers to the others. Klaus moves to go before Luther stops him.
• And they all want to but they are conditioned not too so they stay. she looks back at them and promises “I’ll be back for you guys.”

• Vanya visits them at the end of 6th year, by this time they are all 17 so they are legally an adult, at least in the Wizarding World
• Vanya: *kicking open the doors of The Umbrella Academy* PACK YOUR BAGS BABES WE’RE LEAVING
Leilani: *throws confetti*
Luca: *plays a kazoo*
Reginald: who the f are you?

• at first, Diego is angry at her for leaving (especially since she DOES end up having powers) but after a while, he understands but is kinda snappy
• Meanwhile, Vanya’s over here like “but it’s not like your powers ….”
“I mean 'powers? ’ ehhhh…”
• She finally lets them go through her spell books and after three hours Diego goes
“Vanya your powers are weirdly complicated”
Vanya: -_- “Diego, your powers are that you can THROW KNIFES AND STUFF ????”
• It’s like they’re genetically modified and she’s just *poof*

° In 7th year, Vanya, Luca, and Leilani became an official band
• Leilani is the lead singer, (Vanya is the back up)
• Vanya will have solos on her violin during songs, and Luca plays Guitar and, occasionally, the drums
• Leilani’s mom will join them when she has time, playing her Cello
(Once Leilani’s dad had joined them, when they were practicing, and beatboxed. After that Vanya was way more comfortable with him)
• They play at Hogsmeade, Diagon, and the orphanage. Mainly covers of popular Muggle songs, but they have written their own songs as well
• Dersai is their main supporter and agent. Harry and Draco are their sponsors!

• For Christmas Vanya usually get the umbrella Academy sweets and such, but after they find out about her witch-yness?
• Vanya sends Klaus honeydukes sweets
And five books about time travel
• SHE GETS BEN A PYGMY PUFF!!! (Her name is Alyssa)
• Luther gets random magic creature plushies (each with tags and a copy of Newt’s book) cause “He needs to lighten up”
• Allison gets a lot of cosmetic products from Weasleys wizard wheezes
• Diego gets a pretty knife (for every occasion), each has enchanted wood that does different things (enchanted by the goblins)
• Leilani gets them all gifts as well, (her parents take her to India very other year, and they always visit various countries so she sends the stuff from there)
• Luca sends gifts too!
• And Desai gets them all sweets and Vanya handmade jewelry
• Vanya gets in return every year alcohol she just kinda disposes of
(House parties are always WACK because of this),
• extra supplies from five (of which she is very happy about the ballpoint pens and notebooks)
• something sweet from Ben along with an actual letter,
• heavy wool socks (about ten pairs) from Luther who is convinced a stone castle is the coldest place on earth
• A couple pieces of jewelry from Allison (who thinks Vanya needs to be in a relationship like yesterday 👀)
• And snek plushies from diego
(Rani, Vanya’s snake, can’t tell if she is pleased or offended)
• Vanya gets Diego a hippogriff plushie as well,
Diego loves it with all his heart, and it’s his favorite thing (even if he won’t admit it)

She has one of those breathy and quiet laughs mostly because she gets uncertain and a lil embarrassed about the whole situation whenever she gets tickled. She doesn’t really know how to react

She can enjoy it as a platonic thing, but only with her siblings because she’s so unused to it and needs to feel comfortable and safe to enjoy it. She can’t handle it for too long tho

Usually a lee, but Klaus sometimes literally BEGS her to get him back so she’s learning lmao

Klaus and Five! Also Allison when they start becoming more close again

Allison and Klaus, mostly. Five would do it when they were younger, but he finds more interesting things to talk about now so he doesn’t want to “waste time” on tickling lol

Nope! But she doesn’t know how to react if someone threatens to tickle her so she kinda just sits there

Yep! She never tries to hide or deny it, but she tries to tone down her reaction when she gets tickled. It’s very rare that you get her full on belly laughing (mostly because the ler always stops early on)
would gentle tickling or rough tickling affect them more?
Rough probably would, but people are usually gentle with her because she’s tiny
is there a specific spot that they enjoy being tickled, either exclusively or more than other spots? what is it?
She thinks getting her sides tickled is fun, mostly because she can squirm and try to cover the spots. She enjoys the playfulness of it all, so she likes the fight or flight type of scenario
is there a spot that they can’t stand to be tickled, either because it’s just too sensitive, or it’s uncomfortable/painful/etc? what is it?
Her feet, partly because they’re v ticklish, partly because it’s a strange place for her to be touched and she gets a bit uncomfortable
would they ever purposefully bug a friend/partner/sibling into tickling them, and if so, how would they go about it?
If she was feeling really cuddly and playful, yes. She would be super uncertain about it and make a very bad job out of trying to provoke them and be sassy and they would be like wtf and ask her what she wants and she would blush and say nothing. Klaus would realize immediately, Five would let it go, Allison and Luther would sit down and try to have a serious conversation and be like “you can tell me anything” and Diego would either bug her until she says or actually try to tickle it out of her (and then not even realize he’s giving her what she wants lmao)
does teasing affect them?
Yes, but you could probably say ANYTHING and she’d flush if she was in the middle of being tickled
