thoughts on the shiny polywag line? 😁

Poliwag: Poliwag's shiny is terrible and everyone knows it. It's particularly frustrating because it's a monocolor 'mon (minus the mouth), so you could just switch it to any other color and it would work. And to make things worse, Poliwrath has a great green-colored shiny, making Poliwag have even less of an excuse for being near-indistinguishable from the original. Like, just be green.
Poliwhirl: Poliwhirl's shiny also sucks, basically just being a slightly different blue like Poliwag—except somehow it's not even consistent, as it's not the same hue as Poliwag. The bar was on the floor and somehow it still failed. Once again, Poliwhirl's shiny should just be green.
Poliwrath: Alright, now THIS is a good shiny. It's easy to tell apart from the original (unlike its pre-evos), and making the tadpole green like a fully-developed frog works great conceptually. The only thing I could mark it down for would be not being consistent, but I'd rather blame Poliwhirl and Poliwag for that seeing as they're the worse ones of the bunch.
Politoed: Regular Politoed already wasn't consistent with the rest of the line due to being green and yellow (i.e., a frog and not a tadpole), so making the shiny blue to match the regular line is a great idea, and the contrast makes it easy to distinguish. However, I do wish it was actually the same shade of blue as the rest of the non-shiny line, which would've brought things full-circle.
Likewise, I think I would've liked white more than the pink as the secondary color, for the same reason. I also think the pink fights with the blue a bit because it's a near 50/50 split of two colors that don't really go together, compared to the green and yellow of the original where the yellow just feels like a complimentary "lighter" green—plus, it would keep the cheeks from getting lost. Not a huge deal however.
Overall: Poliwrath has the best shiny of the bunch. Politoed's shiny is good but could be a bit more clever in execution, and Poliwhirl and Poliwag's shinies are terrible and nearly indistinguishable from the originals.
