So I bought Fellowship of the ring today [in book form] because @fishygeekblog has been doing tolkein analysis and I want to follow along.
And the intro from Tolkein is so suspect viewing it through a Fargo season 3 lense [and i suppose taking fargo: the tv series, severance, and ST as one currently vaguely connected thing] he says this:

Who is in control here? Who is writing the story[ies].
Interestingly I found a quantum cryptography research paper on a type of steganography. Which then led me to these shapes we all know and love and recognize. I don't put much stock into quantum encryption. not yet anyway.
But these shapes and cryptographic steganography may be another thing all together.
I have no answers other than I am completely suspicious of some interconnected, very large story being told.
edited to add here's my two cents. I'm either on the money or wrong and I'm happy to be wrong about the following: all these shows are about the human experience [obvs] but also cryptographic history and the satellite states breaking away. you cannot tell this history over one series even if it's ten seasons long. this is about the mountain men and women in this field including Tolkein. and the people in the satellite states like Kuklinski. What do i even do with this info? I guess make another video essay lol
