Do you ever attempt to sit in a comfortable position, but then remember you're on your period
I didn't know you liked Gunnerkrigg Court oh my god i love you even more now ^_^
Yep, I’m a fan! Thanks!
did you ever watch Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc.? If you did, how did you like it because I loved it and you're kinda the cartoon connoisseur of these parts
Mystery Incorporated? More like WRECK MY SOUL WITH THAT ENDING INCORPORATED
Nah really though, SDMI was a stroke of pure genius, it had lots of incredible character development, an ongoing bigger mystery woven between the monster-of-the-week formula that made Scooby Doo popular in the first place, and enough pop culture and self-parody references to kill a moose!
Let me just say...Mystery Incorporated is to Scooby Doo what Madoka is to the entire magical girl genre. Yes, it is that intense. Like, holy shit.
11/10 best Scooby
I really like comedy and like...heartwarming stuff I guess? also like tragic backstories (even if they're not necessarily important to the plot) but like adventure, action, and somewhat nightmare fuel every now and then are really great too :)
funny, heartwarming, action/adventure, angst, occasional nightmare fuel, got it! heres some recs:
kaijudo: rise of the duel masters
xiaolin showdown
american dragon: jake long
cybersix
huntik: secrets & seekers
secret saturdays (esp if you like heartwarming family stuff)
generator rex (same with ss, family stuff)
sym-bionic titan (a /lot/ of nightmare fuel hahahaha)
life and times of juniper lee (not so much on the tragic)
Do you have any like, cartoon recommendations for like reeeaaally high quality cartoons or things like that? :D
Weeeeeell, it depends on what ya mean by “high quality”, really!
I’m guessing you mean something like, graphically amazing, or really strong characterization, maybe with a unique premise, or having really broad audience appeal? That’s a pretty wide net to cast! Let’s do some breakdowns!
Graphically amazing? I cannot stress enough how much everyone who loves art/animation porn should watch Tron: Uprising. The sheer amount of art porn alone is jaw-dropping, not even to mention the amazing story, characters, and underlying message beneath it all. I’m gonna need to rewatch this one soon, because holy fucking SHIT, it’s so good you guys…
For really strong characterization, well, you should already be watching Adventure Time and Steven Universe and Gravity Falls. They’re the top contenders for this sort of thing, no foolin’. For good characters though, another great anime you should definitely check out is Michiko & Hatchin. That’s some grade A anime right there, lemme tells ya.
Lots of cartoons have a good, unique premise, especially the modern ones, now that we live in an era where such things are appreciated and encouraged! If you haven’t already, look into a cartoon called Motorcity! It’s a rebel/overlord story, but set in the scrapyard underground ruins of old Detroit (given how bad the situation is in present-day Detroit, that’s actually really cool!), centered on a group of strong-hearted rebels with crazy suped-up cars. It’s way better than you think it is!
And for that broad audience appeal, there’s a cartoon I think far too many people skipped right over without thinking called Wander Over Yonder that’s basically the strange Disney lovechild of Space Dandy and Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, with a splash of Jack McBrayer as the main character!
But yeah, if I’m gonna give you the bes tpossible rec, I’m gonna need something more specific! Think what kind of cartoons you wanna see the most, and go from there!
oh that shoulda been private
okay so like when the crossover was first announced i like really hated the idea but I wasn't like ranting about it or anything; when i saw your side of the argument i like started actually looking forward to it a lot??? and oh my god I loved it so freaking much I just want to say thanks for actually defending it (you're the only person I've seen so far) and possibly getting me to watch a new show~
You’re totally welcome, oh my god I’m happy to hear that my posts convinced you to watch! :D guess all that hopeless optimism paid off after all!
also just wanna say that your Kimmy icon is rad as heck :)
