Nico blinked in surprise at the person. He was royal, that much Nico definitely knew, if not for the fact he’d seen the other from a distance with the rest of the royal family, than from how he spoke, it wouldn’t be that hard to guess. But beyond that, he wasn’t exactly sure how to answer him.
“Uh, coincidence?” he tried carefully, scratching uncertainly at his ear. “I mean, my dad’s just a soldier and my mom--she’s not grisha either.” Nico opened his mouth to say his sister was also normal as far as he knew, but then closed his mouth again. That wouldn’t help. “But, yes, I’m the shadow summoner.”
