Basant debate continues. Who "owns" Basant"?
take a look at this Pakistani commentator, who claims that Basant died in India because it became a "quiet ritual". first of all for us, Basant Panchami is first and foremost about the worship of Maa Saraswati. It is done with rituals like drawing alpona/rangoli, decorating everything in flowers and yellow, and of course the puja. It is very dignified. The puja is only one part of the celebrations of the entire week. Panchami is only the fifth day of the worship. We also celebrate it with great pomp.
