pakistanis blatantly stealing the Hindu festival of basant panchami, rewriting wiki pages to portray it as some lahore-punjab kite flying festival (which was all Hindu lands before partition when they embraced islam and left behind these haram things supposedly), and celebrating it as "jashn-e-basant" is the most blatant form of islamic colonization i have seen yet. the very word BASANT is a Sanskrit word.

like what's next???? jashn-e-raang for holi? jashn-e-noor for deepavali? jashn-e-nach for garba-navaratri?

Basant debate continues. Who "owns" Basant"?

take a look at this Pakistani commentator, who claims that Basant died in India because it became a "quiet ritual". first of all for us, Basant Panchami is first and foremost about the worship of Maa Saraswati. It is done with rituals like drawing alpona/rangoli, decorating everything in flowers and yellow, and of course the puja. It is very dignified. The puja is only one part of the celebrations of the entire week. Panchami is only the fifth day of the worship. We also celebrate it with great pomp. Entire cities come alive in colours and kites are flown. Just look at the audacity of this Pakistani. I want to know what makes them so delusional.

Now take a look at this Indian Muslim who is claiming that Pakistanis have "more refined sense of aesthetic" than Indian Hindus.

After demanding Pakistan on religious grounds, massacring and expelling Sikhs and Hindus during the partition to trying to bury their “non Islamic roots” they are now celebrating Basant and telling us that it has nothing to do with ancient Indian culture, Hinduism, sikhism and basically erasing the roots they so hate from it.

Pakistan is the actual fake colonial project that they like to claim India is.

Government allowed the celebration of Basant which is a kite🪁 flying festival, deeply rooted in desi culture and was heavily celebrated across Punjab(province of Pakistan). Celebration of Basant began and was celebrated for 3 days after facing a ban for 20 years due to safety reasons. During basant we used to face alot of deaths and people got severely injured due to carelessness. People used to fall off of roofs during kite flying, got their necks severed from the thread of the kites. Due to the seriousness of the issues it got banned.

After 20 years a festival regained its charm. I'm a Genz who turned 20 last year. This was my first Basant✨. I dressed all desi, wore jhumkas, bangles, got all glammed up and visited Old Lahore n traditional sites where it was being celebrated🎊. I mean I've seen kids flying kites before and when i was little, me and my fellows used to. But this big of a festival was the first one for me💛.
