*Sighs wistfully* I'm so torn about Vasilika.
At first I was going to change her around and make her a big sad amalgam of limbs and body horror -- the Abbot's attempt to create a "perfect being" that could succeed where he failed. It was gonna be a creepy thing where he's always looking for new parts because he's never satisfied and never gonna stop building.
I did this in part because I'm downplaying the "romantic" aspects of Strahd's pursuit of Ireena, and I wanted to steer away from the theme of the Abbot making Strahd a wife.
But the more I think about it, the more I think Vasilika could be good as is... and like, it is kind of a funny thing if this angel is just so heteronormative that he's like "yes, the love of a good woman will cure Strahd of his evil! That'll fix him!" (Also I'm worrying my original idea may be too much body horror for one of my players.)
I keep flipping back and forth the longer they put off going to Krezk!! I don't know which direction to go! Maybe split the difference somehow?
