Hugo's personal opinion ends where Varian's attitude begins
he's where he wants to be dw
And from that sliver of earth, pushing up with impossible determination, was a single stem. Slender, pale green, topped with a drooping, bell-shaped flower of pure white. Its petals were edged with the faintest tracing of green, and a single drop of melted snow clung to its tip like a tear of joy.
The ground was thawing.
A slow, incredulous laugh escaped him. It was a small sound, barely audible over the wind, but it was real. And then, he smiled.
Hugo's never seen Varian smile before.
(roughly the middle of the story maybe)

blizzard AU!!! I have so many ideas for this
More blizzard au lore? 🥺🤲
it's happy and hopeful and no one dies I say as they drag me into a white room with padded walls
i need specific questions cuz some things I can't reveal just yet. but more art is coming up like today?? tomorrow??
here's a sneak peek
Will Nuru and Yong make an appearance in your blizzard au?
I really hope I'll manage to make space for them, even as a cameo, yes!!
I do have ideas for their role in the plot. they're older than in vat7k ofc
hi!!! I had a clarifying question about the blizzard au-
you had mentioned in a post that Varian still had the villain arc, the only difference was the failure of the Demanitus machine. I was wondering how that worked, if you wouldn’t mind? To me a lot of his villain arc (or the events of it anyway) hinged on the reactionary choices Fredric and Varian made at each other- like the soldiers after the graphtic, the discovery of the automaton in the tunnels, etc. Rapunzel progressed a lot of that plot on both sides, so if she disappears and the blizzard blocks everyone in, how would his arc happen?
obv if answering this includes spoilers no worries I was just curious. The concept is super cool (and so is your art ho-leey cow)!!
hello there! yeah woo that's a lot of spoilers so I'll just leave bits and pieces
the reason behind why the machine didn't work is so simple it's stupid: pascal didn't survive x) and neither did Rapunzel's parents. because, frankly, that's logically what would've happened
varian still has his "villain" arc (although I'd call it the desperation arc imo), but no one's stopping him. no one's stopping him from grieving aggressively and no one's stopping him from carrying the nonexistent guilt of Quirin being trapped in amber because of him. I doubt that he believes that it was an accident
in short, Varian was a desperate, angry boy, and Corona is a breath away from being a fallen kingdom.
that's all I can say :) ty for the question!
Hola, de que trata tu universo alternativo de Blizzard?
hola! so sorry, I don't speak Spanish, like, at all, so you might need to use a translator because I don't want to butcher any lovely language by using Google translate /sincere
you can find more info on blizzard under the tag #vat7k blizzard AU or #blizzard au
in short, it's about a lost prince and a hermit alchemist traversing through the world overtaken by the Eternal Frost ❄️
