Friendly notice, guys! So, because season two of the Vampire Academy fan series takes place entirely during the book of Frostbite, the title for the second season has changed to "Bound By Shadows: the Frostbite Fan Series." Go check out their new social media to see behind the scenes news, like the newest castings (ahem, Tasha. New Dimitri. ADRIAN. Eddie.)I may have written lot of this season, but I didn't executive produce it and I was never on set, so I know about as much about it as everyone else does. I'm so excited for the new episodes!!!! <3
So, like, the funniest thing is happening right now. I wrote the second half of season 1 of Vampire Academy: the Officially Unofficial Fan Series before I decided to give up the title of Executive Producer. Meaning, basically, I know the story and everything that (generally) happens in the season, but I also don’t. Like, I haven’t been on set at all, I was only part of casting Dimitri, Tasha, and Adrian, and I haven’t seen any of the footage. They also had the ability to change the script after I left. So, like, when these episodes premiere, I’ll be seeing them for the first time, seeing what’s going on. Like, I am as nervous as fans of their show. I have no idea what it’s going to turn out like. Mad respect to Ashley Lyn and Jenn for all their work, though. From what I can tell from behind-the-scenes stuff, it’s going to be badass. I just can’t wait to see the finished products. So yeah. Imma just stay out here and fangirl with you guys. 😭😭
I got gifs galore today. Just you wait.
Goodbye, #VAFamily
Hey there, VA Family.
Today, I come bearing bitersweet news regarding Vampire Academy: The Officially Unofficial Fan Series. After a year and a half of working on this project, my involvment as executive producer is regretfully over. I will not be involved in the creation of season 1B, nor anything further if the others now making the show decide to continue. I wrote some episodes for this season, but whether or not you will see all of these episodes is up in the air as of now. It’s a very trying and changing time right now, and the transition has a few things a little fuzzy, but I assure you that this is the best move for the series.
Vampire Academy has taken up a huge part of my life, and I will always look back on it as the first project I could really take pride in, between my work and the hard work of everyone else involved. However, the time has finally come for me to say goodbye and start a new chapter in my life. I’ve got a few great opportunities coming my way in the world of TV writing, my ultimate goal, that I simply can’t pass up. Between these opportunities and my school work, as well as other factors in life, I am afraid that I would not have the time to properly dedicate myself to the quality series you all so desperately deserve.
There are a number of reasons I am stepping down, some of them more complicated than others, but I refuse to say anything negative about the amazing cast and crew who have helped me thus far. Mostly because there’s absolutely nothing negative to say. These people believed so much in my vision, and the vision of Richelle Mead’s original works, that they’ve dedicated their time, hearts, and souls to it. I could not be happier with what we have created thus far, and with everything I have learned on set with these outstanding filmmakers. They are absolutely amazing people, and I have complete faith that they will do what is best for the series in the near future.
I look forward to watching the series with you folks when it premieres. Until then, this is goodbye to my second family. I will miss you all, my lovely guardians and princesses and gods and goddesses.
