Final post of the night (morning? I have no concept of time today)
I have dozens of playlists and at least one for every WIP, but I also want to share on a smaller scale which songs are on repeat for me on a weekly basis. Be prepared. I'm pretty sure #TorturedPoetsDepartment will feature heavily next week.

I've seen a few people (notably Becky Albertalli) share what their Tortured Poets Department track list would look like if they were more musically inclined with their writing as opposed to prose. I absolutely had to jump on the bandwagon and throw my own out there. Honestly, I'm half-tempted to try to write some lyrics. Of course, I can't typically write anything under 60 pages, so that might be setting myself up for disaster...
Honestly, one of the reasons I love working on Deep Six so very much is because, like... where else am I going to get to write sluglines like this in the first few pages and keep going like it's not one of the coolest fucking things ever?

AfterMath: Young Adult standalone novel. Sapphic. Drama. A high school student finds herself unable to move on after surviving a school shooting that left her girlfriend in a coma. Unable to really mourn, but also unable to pretend all is normal, Nina struggles to find a way to weather her new reality. Told in dual timeline so that you get the nice warm and fuzzies of the girls falling in love juxtaposed with the fallout of the shooting. Currently in draft #1.
Deep Six: One-hour TV drama pilot script. Indiana Jones meets Jacques Cousteau. A maritime archaeologist and her team set out to search for a research ship that's gone missing near Mariana Trench while on a clandestine mission for the United States Navy. Currently in rewrites.
Prince of the Republic. Drama erotica novel series (book 1). Girl gets kidnapped (kind of) and dragged to a (quite literally) underground palace, where she's informed that she's engaged to be married to the crown Prince of the American Republic (except... there's no such thing. Or is there?). In development.
Sometimes I just upload things so social media and yeet away before anyone sees it. đ
My sister and I both have full time jobs (combined, we work 80 hours a week), as well as side hustles (we have OF accounts and dabble in sex work/webcam-ing, and I run a script consultation service).
We SHOULD be able to afford to live.
But we are $200 short on rent this month, and we've both barely been eating because we can only afford the bare minimum and groceries. I have not had a 3 meal day in literal months. I usually only eat dinner and maybe a bag of chips if we have any. And that's IF she or I aren't so exhausted from work that we feel like making a meal. The meals are getting more and more basic, and almost never include vegetables or any real nutrients. They're usually pasta and sauce or largely bread-based (sandwiches or grilled cheese) because even meat is expensive as hell for us.
Why is existing so fucking impossible?! I just... I don't even know what to do anymore. I'd kill myself, but literally no one I know could afford to do anything with my body, even burn it. đ

Just as a heads up: I read and give detailed professional feedback on screenplays significantly cheaper than youâll find coverage on big pro reader sites.

Time Catchers: Competition Fee Help!
Hi all! So, if you know me (or have been following me for a while), youâve probably seen me post once or twice (or fifty times) about my TV Pilot, Time Catchers. Iâve been writing it for years, and finally got it to a place where Iâm ready to sumbit it to some competitions. But Iâve got a bit of a problem: Iâm working an unpaid internship and wonât have enough money to submit to the four big competitions Iâd like to.Â
Time Catchers is aimed at followers of similarly toned-shows such as Vampire Diaries and Shadowhunters. Aside from the general age demographic, however, I fully intend for TC to become a home for LGBT+ viewers and/or viewers of color. Both are heavily represented in the series, as the lead cast are all PoC and they all fall in the LGBT+ spectrum. This show is about more than just time travel. Itâs about family, and finding yourself, and representation where you can see yourself on screen without that character being solely about their race or identifying sexuality.
I hate asking for anything from any of my followers, but winning competitions could mean one step closer to bringing this passion project of mine to the screen, and maybe giving a voice to several new writers of color and actors of color. Itâs an opportuity to bring diversity to Hollywood. I mean, a badass new mythology-based time travel story with a fun cast of characters, but also a diverse show.Â

Hey guys! Iâm in the market for a few really good beta readers & editors for my new series, The Dynagyn Chronicles, which will hopefully be making its debut at the end of the summer. The series is written in âbookisodeâ format, so itâs supposed to read almost like a TV show would watch. Iâve got an early draft of the first episode currently written, with 7 more episodes on the way for the first âseason.â Every episode is 5 chapters with a prologue & an epilogue. Final drafts will probably be closer to 60 pages for each episode, while the current draft of 1 is right at 100 pages.

So itâs done. I donât know how the fuck I talked myself into doing this, much less how I kept my morale up all damned week, but I finally did something right.Â
This week, I focused on writing the first draft of the pilot âbookisodeâ of my series, The Dynagyn Chronicles. I knew finishing the book was going to be a challenge, but I wanted to push myself anyway. And here we are.Â
When I started Sunday morning, I had the prologue and the first few pages of chapter 1. Here I am, six days and 88 pages later, with five full chapters, the prologue, and an epilogue. Itâs a first draft, but thatâs all I was looking for this week with this episode.
Not just that, though. This week was also development and planning week for episode 2. Today, I am nearly done with completely outlining this episode (on a scene by scene, act by act breakdown level) so that I can do the same thing next week that I did this week, while also adding editing episode 1 and planning episode 3 into the mix.
This was the first in a series of 9 weeks I plan to work on the first season of this series, and I could not be happier of how much Iâve been able to do, and I seriously canât believe I was actually able to meet my goal. Jesus. Iâm emotionally and creatively exhausted. But proud. I got it done. Hereâs to nine more weeks, and then release date (hopefully).
TV Show concept: basically an extended version of those Ancestry.com genealogy commercials. Every season is another story of how a fictional characterâs ancestors met and managed to survive long enough to have children. Starts waaaaaaay back in a family line. Thereâs probably a season with a lord falling in love with a maid in his household in England. The next season is their descendants, maybe in the revolutionary war, fighting to survive. The seasons go on until we finally in the series finale meet the kid on a laptop in between classes at a local community college, looking up his family history for fun.Â
Alternatively, every season is a different person. Every episode is another ancestor.At the end of every episode, they reveal the person investigating. The season finale is always all the characters introduced kind of finding out their lives are intertwined by filling in the missing links. The maid and the lordâs grandson saved the daughter of episode 2âČs main character, who went on to change the lives of the next episodeâs, etc. All the kids doing research come to the realization that, even though they all come from different backgrounds, theyâre all human and their histories as such are intertwined, etc.
This is what happens when I spend 3 days on Ancestry.com, folks.
Update: I am so adding this to my active story list. Iâm going to write it. I just have to find a snazzy name for it.
Update #2: Iâm thinking something like âDegrees of Youâ for the working title. Something to do with the Six Degrees of Separation, considering a good portion of the story has to do with how interconnected we all are.Â
