Andrew Minyard has got me kicking my feet and twirling my hair and considering if maybe there was more I could have done to protect my little brother from our mother if I had stuck around longer, but, knowing inevitability he never would have wanted me to risk my life for him in the same way Andrew did. Andrew may have protected Aaron, but Andrew was not (as a child dealing with severe mental illness (as I was)) in a position to "save aaron." (Killing Tilda wasn't going to suddenly make Aaron "okay") We all just did the best we could with what we were capable of.

Sometimes you can't do enough to save someone. But sometimes you can do enough to make a difference. Sometimes a difference is enough of a push for them to save themselves.
