Problematic because: "(Spoilers for the first game) Akane kidnapped people to play a death game and even manipulated others so they would die. However, her reasoning for doing all of this is tosave her own life, because seeing the future when she was a child that saved her life, as well as revenge for being put through that situation in the first place. She believes in ends justify the means wholeheartedly, and while the narrative and I personally forgive her for what she did, I can see others who would find it problematic." Propaganda: "Akane will do anything to achieve the "good end" including let herself die in whatever timeline she's in, or let other people kill each other. She's one of the most well-written female characters I've ever seen. Please support women's wrongs!!!"
vs. Reiner Braun (Attack on Titan)
Problematic because: "Mass murder, aiding in attempted genocide" Propaganda: "Probably my personal fav villain in AOT. Was indoctrinated by a racist society, taught internalized hatred, and naively wanted his fathers approval, leading to him being made to commit mass murder at 12 years old. Came clean in one of the silliest reveal scenes in anime after suffering a mental break from the festering guilt. He did so much wrong but the effort and psychology that went into his character helps in understanding why he is the way he is."
