FALLOUT 3 virtual photography by absent passenger
Currently in production...
Vault 112, conceived to be an ideal virtual world to outlive the end of everything.
....and then along came Stanislaus Braun. Very soon we'll be returning to the Capital Wasteland to visit Toucan Lagoon and it goes about as well as you'd expect.
"Did you just Fantasy Island Stanislaus Braun?"
"Yes. Yes we did."

Just Some Fallout 3 Things
So, I recently was able to resurrect Fallout 3 on my laptop. As such, I’ve been able to finally take some in-game screenshots. These are some of my favorites thus far.
1 is right after exiting GNR to go find James
2 is one i like to refer to as “Poetic Justice” (I... came up with an explanation for Dr. Zimmer’s absence in Fallout 4 as explained here with A3-21′s Plasma Rifle, and happened to nab this screenshot.)
3: Man, this visual was haunting for some reason and I had to get a picture
And apparently, if you mess with Dr. Braun in Tranquility Lane, when he kills you, you become some Gumby monstrosity.
Okay so I'm sick in bed [its context bear with me] I'm watching Oxhorn's Fallout 3 lore videos for the main story, seeing Little Buttons and Alexis made me think. Did Buttons have to / end up going to Vault 112? Otherwise, could Cam say what Mac had to deal with in there?
Indeed, it was Mac who had to endure the horrors of Tranquility Lane. But Cam’s either working or working so I don’t think he’ll draw you a reply anytime soon (and I’m rubbish at drawing Mac). Here’s a screenshot of what baby Buttons looked in my game to make up for it:
Bonus:
EDIT: Forgot to add, get better soon!
Me and the boi
Hey y’all long time no see and I’m really bummed about that :/ the only update I wanted to give here was a little sneaky-peeky into an upcoming chapter I’m working on! I’ve been doing better as of late and even got a promotion at work, so I’ve been trying to write chapters ahead for when I post again so I don’t have to worry about running out of posting material.
An update from Chapter 48 of Inventor’s Absolution--no spoilers, just a little blurb from a character that we’re, of course, going to meet eventually... ;)

Journal Log #: 4,817 Date: 05.11.2277 Simulation: Tranquility Lane
I’m afraid that the newest edition to our quaint Tranquility Lane (the scientist I mentioned in Journal Log # 4,810, Dr. James Parker) has proven himself to be incredibly disappointing. My prior excitement in having another brilliant mind to converse with is gone, which is an unfortunate shame as he’s expressed familiarity with my work. After I ordered him to break up the happy marriage of those insufferable Neusbaums he’s refused to further partake in any of my experiments, even under threat of horrific death!
Despite my disappointments I see a glimmer of hope. He’s much more resilient than my other test subjects, in both body and mind, and I surmise he can withstand strain that they haven’t been able to in recent years. Through regular check-ups I’ve kept records of their health and their deteriorating condition is deplorable, so I’ve calculated the fate of this simulation and how much time I have left; if my math is correct, and it always is, then I’ll only have another 70-odd years left before the immersion recliners can‘t further sustain themselves or my subjects. Time here moves in a distinctly different pattern when compared to real time, where I can stretch hours if not days and weeks into a snail’s crawl over the real world’s minutes, but to know that my manipulations will be for nothing is a—… despairing thought.
How many times have I entertained ending the experiments? Running the fail-safe that would release my subjects from their torment, and if I were to edit a single line of code, myself as well? My physical body is surely in no better shape than theirs if waking from the simulation was an option, and I’m decidedly glad it isn’t. Still, my mind has recently changed about this, and that’s in thanks to Dr. Parker. Despite the frustrations of his constant yipping like a dog (Addendum 1: how curious an idea…) with his endless questions and refusing to play my little game, his presence has broken the monotony of this world and I can see the effects his personality has on the test subjects. They clearly enjoy his company as much as I do.
Perhaps in another life we would have been coworkers. Friends, even, though I dare not entertain the thought. For now, we’re regrettably deadlocked in his refusal to cooperate and my refusal to answer his questions, and so I will have to find other means to force his participation.
Addendum 2: I suddenly find myself inspired! A moment of eureka! If he continues to refuse playing my game and still expects his questions to be answered, then I have my ways of silencing him until he agrees to play… and I am a patient man where it matters. I have all the time I need here in my world, and I can smell a desperate man still, even after this long. He’ll surrender eventually but until then, I will bide my time gladly. I suspect that after the ingenuity he showed in separating the Neusbaums, the wait will be worth it, so until then I’ll plan up all the things I’ll have him do. Now… I wonder what breed of dog is his favorite?
Addendum 3: Dr. Parker claims to have no preference, and I’ve always been a fan of the German Shepherd…
