Short king problems: girlfriend too tall to put head on :(
I imagine after Vax finally returned home and he and Keyleth reunited, Keyleth must've been terrified of him leaving again. Imagine her waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat after dreaming about Vax dying again and desperately reaching for him in the dark to see if he still has a pulse. And the number of times Vax has woken up to her quietly sobbing as she strokes her thumb across either his neck or wrist just needing the reassurance he's still alive
I love the idea of Keyleth being a morning person who gets up super early while Vax is more of a night owl who can barely function in the mornings. I imagine her waking up long before he does and spending a few minutes lying in bed, tracing small circles against his cheek as she admires him. And it'll be a few hours before he wakes up, so she makes sure the dishes from last night are cleaned and put out new flowers she made so he doesn't wake up to a mess. And at night she falls asleep early and sometimes at random places in the house whether she's been working or reading so Vax always makes sure she gets to bed and he'll lay there with her till she falls asleep, stroking her hair and talking to her, maybe even reading to her. And when he's sure she's asleep, he'll sneak off and do his own work.
But there are some mornings when Keyleth can't get out of bed because Vax drags her back under the covers and asks her to stay, and some nights, she doesn't let him leave either, so they end up holding the other hostage
I dont know if I've ever mentioned this but there's this scene while everyone is at Taryon's father's mansion they all have to sleep on the floor in a room together and Vax turns to Keyleth and he asks if she can turn into Minxy so he can cuddle with her and use her as a pillow and Keyleth's like "🙄😒 Fine" and I love the implication that this is not the first time he's asked her to do this
Keyleth: *Trips over flat surfaces, socially awkward, accidentally lights the room on fire, a hazard to herself and those around her, makes really bad jokes, has a habbit of walking into glass doors, is somehow really bad at candy crush*
Vax: "She's everything I've ever wanted"
Going back to my post about how Vax asked Keyleth to turn into Minxy so they could cuddle... can you imagine Vax being in one of his silly lil guy moods and getting on Keyleths nerves so she turns into Minxy and lies ontop of him. Silly lil guy privileges revoked from the boyfriend 😔
I don't know why, but I REALLY love the idea of Keyleth being very domesticated. But not in a "that's my wife" kind of way. I like to imagine her as someone who's very maternal, even towards her partners. She's very professional when it comes to her role as the voice of the tempest, but at the same time she'll drop that image in an instant and get her hands dirty to help someone she considers family
And i think for someone like Vax, it makes sense. The only positive influences he's had in his life were from women, and I get the sense he's always subconsciously depended on Vex for whatever maternal comfort he was seeking out. Being with someone like Keyleth who doesn't mind checking in on him regularly, helping him when he's sick even if it means taking the day off, holding him whenever he has nightmares, and making sure he dresses nice . Not that she needs to babysit him. Vax has proven to be perfectly capable of being independent, but he's guilty of neglecting his own needs and his health in favor of helping the ones he loves and he crashes hard when his neglect eventually catches up to him. So it's nice having someone make sure he's taken care of, and if he does crash that there's someone who will soothe and comfort him and heal him till he's well enough to function again.
Help I can't stop thinking about Vax and Keyleth as parents
