– “am i moving my legs?” she’s breathless, unable to inhale further than laboured, shallow breaths. she turns her head to spit the blood pooling in her mouth, before letting out a pained, staggered cry as she looks back up at the sky above her, at griffin above her. “griff, am i —- am i moving my legs?” it’s less hopeful this time. her eyes begin to water, and she hiccups quietly as she begins to cry. “——i need my bag, griff —- where is it? must’ve — must’ve dropped it ——” she sniffles, trying her hardest to keep her eyes, her mind on her best friend. she knows if she lets it wander, she’ll start to drift off, and —- “—i don’t wanna die,” it’s whimpered and broken, shaking hands reaching for her companion’s to grip as tightly as she could – which isn’t very tight at all. she feels cold, but she keeps talking, hoping that it’ll keep her awake, that she’ll stay awake – “—-that’s orion’s belt, isn’t it?” she sniffles again as tears pour over her temples, gazing up at the sky as the stars begin to blur in the sky. her fingers twitch like she’s trying to point, but she can’t bring them to do much else. “and —— and over there, that bright one, that’s — that’s venus —-” she lets out a wracked sob, frantically looking to griffin and blinking hard to rid her eyes of tears. “i don’t wanna DIE, griff.” she’s terrified, clear in the way she searches his face for something hopeful to hold onto. she hears sirens and she can see flashing lights, red and blue, red and blue, but they begin to fade – shouldn’t they be getting brighter? “——i’m scared,” they’re barely words at this point – but she pushes them out just before her eyes flutter shut.

1:01 AM. annabella whitlock is pronounced dead after a fall from the roof of a five-story building.
