━━ misunderstanding // @vcpours . ❜
tamera giggled at her friend’s comment about one of the actors in the movie and she looked over at her with adoration. gwen was one of the only people in her friend circle that hadn’t given up on her when she’d fallen pregnant. she had been there for her, at doctor’s appointments - when she could - and had helped her arrange everything. that is why she was nala’s godmother and tamera was grateful to have her in her life. it wasn’t just for the friendship and the help though.
she wasn’t out yet, seeing no purpose to upset her mother further by telling her she was gay. she hadn’t told anyone either though, including gwen. she had always been sure that her friend was 100% straight and so, she had figured her brain had just let her crush on the woman because it could never be anyway. the problem was that it wasn’t just a short-lived thing. it was something that had grown over time and now, she was head over heels in love with the woman. she would do anything she asked and given even half the chance, she would drop everything to be with her. it was just the reality of her emotions. maybe it was her mind playing tricks on her but sometimes, she almost thought that her friend liked her too. she’d catch her looking and her brain translated that into hope, in a sign that maybe there was more. she looked at her. would she look back? she wondered and bit her lip. maybe she would. if she did, she’d tell her, she thought. generally, when she made these bets with herself, her friend didn’t do whatever term she’d set for her revelation and it just wouldn’t happen. it was a game she played with herself. surely, her friend wouldn’t look.
