holy gee whiz i love your art style!!! i just.. have so many questions a;lsd;sl so here i goooooooo: first off, do you use pen mostly? or is it dark pencil? (like the B-ist of B's) how do you get it to show up in your uploads? (i'm assuming photo editing so it shows up clearly but i am super impressed that they're so dark!!) and then the last Q is how long does it take you to make an art piece? okay that's it (for now) thank you and i love your work!!!!

Hello! Some other people might like to see it so I’ll answer in public.

I use pen mostly, if it’s pencil it’ll have a soft look and you can easily tell it apart! 

To get it the way I do, I do this

Edit>tonal correction>level correction

basically anything that has levels of it so i can turn turn up the blacks and whites

and for how long it takes, it really depends on the day. Sometimes I’m really focused and having fun and I can get a drawing done in an hour easily, others I have a really hard time focusing and I keep getting distracted and take much longer. I’m also much faster with traditional art than digital, everytime i try digital things I will take a lot of time!

I have more of a training question if you're up for it? I have an aussie who's entering his teenage years, but i have no idea how to deal with it. I've been doing other research, but you have a lot of experience too! So if possible may i get your input on some things to do to help keep teen dogs well socialized and trained? Thank you!

For aussie specific knowledge I would contact @pantsthepuppy and @canismirabilis as they know far more about the breed than I do.

As far as teenagers- by the dog hits teenager phase there is no longer a question of “socialized” vs “not socialized”. You’ve passed the point where introducing new stimuli will have much of a lasting effect as you’ve passed his critical socialization period. Not to say that you cannot continue to work on things he struggles with, but “socializing” is no longer on your agenda. Now it is solidifying your foundation and filling in the gaps you missed the first time around.

My advice to all of my clients with teenage dogs is the same- no way around it, gotta go through it, but if you keep at it and don’t get frustrated and continue to go at your dog’s pace and remain consistent in your expectations, you’ll get the dog you’ve been working towards once adulthood is reached.

something my sensei suggested to my japanese class was to try thinking in japanese as well as talking. also saying the word with each stroke of the kanji helps too! figuring out what kind of learning style you have will also make studying a lot easier too :0!

I’ve been doing that, actually! It helps me learn if I say what I’m writing as well and I have fewer mistakes in my spelling. The problem is that because the words I’m currently learning are so unique from each other, I’m beginning to recognize them by just the first couple characters and am beginning to skim instead. This is a bad habit common to people with ADD (like me!), where someone begins to get lazy while reading and starts recognizing words based off a skim instead of a thorough read. This causes problems later down the line with more complex words or sentences that are misread and the whole paragraph must be completely reread for it to make sense. I’ve struggled with this since learning how to read as a wee bab, so I’m a little frustrated with myself that it’s beginning to leak into my new language studies.
