Arcann, Ashara and Vector return
Okay so admittedly I haven’t done the Ashara mission yet, because my poor inquisitor is not finished with Knights of the Eternal Throne (lol I almost wrote Thrawn there). But, Vector and Arcann I did and boy oh boy there are some things in it.
Vector: My male agent was really happy to have him back and I have to applaud Ifan Meredith for the way he plays Vector. The grief, the joy all the feelings of the dialogue were present in his voice and for a change it felt like one of the old companion conversations. Now the animations, it almost made me laugh. What happened to his eyes? And why does he frown when talking about something positive? What is going on? At least in the non-romance version I don’t get the vertigo of death from his swaggering shoulders. Seriously get a grip, he’s not a funko pop figure with a bobble head.
Arcann: I know that Arcann is somewhat popular as a romance option in the fandom and I have read at least one fanfiction where it was set up in a way that was not cringy. Apologies for not having read all the Arcan fics that are out there. But the way bioware handles the romance is just plain horrible and really clunky. First he gives us this armor, which is a nice gesture, somewhat weird but okay (I’m sorry but the armor looks so so horrible). But for the romance option there is just no build-up. It’s like “I’m a horrible person for the things I’ve done” - “Ah it’s okay, you’ll be better now, let’s kiss.” Honestly that is just awfully written, with no thought whatsoever.
