Here is my 3rd and final project for my VEF1 class. For this project I had to create soft bodies using the legacy particles inside of maya. I created a lattice around my geometry and attached the particles and springs to that, that way I was able to have the particles collide with the geometry. The only other thing I added was a gravity field so that they would fall. I do not own either of the models.
This is my 2nd project for my VEF1 one class. I had to create 3 different particles using the legacy particles inside of maya. I used the blobby surface, particle cloud, and the multi-streak to create the water, steam, and fire, respectively. I also had to do a lot of playing around with different fields such as gravity and turbulence to make the particles look as realistic as possible. By far, the water gave me the most problems and took me the longest to figure out. The other two where much simpler and only took minor adjustment to get them to look the way I wanted.
Here is my first project for my Visual Effects class. We had to set up rigid bodies on the geometry, and add fields like gravity to certain objects. The goal was to try and simulate the movement and to make it as realistic as possible. I created active rigid bodies on the objects that moved and passive rigid bodies on the objects that stayed still. I created different constraints to hold objects in place while they moved, so they would rotate from a certain point. The project was pretty simple but it had its moments where I had spent a lot of time to get something to move the way I wanted. After we were finished with the movement, we had to texture everything, light the scene, and create a camera motion. I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.
