I threw away😝the candy bar👋🍫 and ate🤤the wrapper😳🤭
"I'm gonna be round my vegetables..." I was inspired by the Beach Boys song Vega-tables (Which I named this piece after), so using watercolor and black pen, I made this thing! Honestly, I think I could do a whole collection based on Smile. (For those of you wondering, here's the song: https://youtu.be/LECquYcMFUw )
Vega-Tables - The Beach Boys
After the commercial failure of The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds LP, Brian Wilson went back in the studio to work on his next set of songs for the mysterious SMiLE LP. Brian teamed up with Van Dyke Parks to work on his next pop masterpiece but due in part to Brian’s fragile mental state, the project was never fully realized (the SMiLE album was finally recorded by Brian somewhat as he envisioned it in 2004 with Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE). Vega-Tables is Brian’s ode to healthy eating with lines like “I threw away my candy bar and I ate the wrapper, and when the told me what I did, I burst out in laughter.” The original take featured (now vegetarian) Paul McCartney - fellow Gemini Genius, munching on a carrot (or celery by some other reports) for percussion on the song. So today for Thanksgiving, I am thankful for Brian and this crazy little song. Enjoy!
