Before going vegan I used to restricted calories and I had a pretty unhealthy relationship with food. I looked healthy on the outside but I was struggling with my health. I was tired, needed coffee to start the day, pre-workouts to get energy for exercise. I'd have bloating, and reflux daily, a burning feeling in my gut after eating that would hang around for hours. Food cravings, Headaches, skin rashes, mood swings and a candida problem. Sometimes I'd get so sick and tired after dinner I'd have to leave the restaurant abruptly so I could get to the comfort of my bed and roll around in pain. Most of the health professionals I saw told me diet had nothing to do with it. 🤦🏻♀️ Then the naturopaths I saw at the time, yes there were several I saw. Told me to eat absolutely no sugar, not even fruit or carrots because they were to high in sugar, so basically no carbs what so ever. Needless to say things got worse from that, not to mention it's impossible to stick to. Thank god I found a whole food plant based lifestyle. That, mixed with Fasting, intuitive eating, deep breathing and exercise. I have seen the biggest improvement in my health and wellbeing. Off all medication. My gut health has improved 💯 and my skin is the best it's been for me in a long time. (Always struggled with breakouts before) Although I still feel like I'm always learning and improving on my health journey, I am so happy at where I am today.
