This vegan version of shrimp toast has the same crunchy texture and tasty flavor as the real thing, but it doesn't use any animal products. It's great for any event as a snack or starter.
Ingredients: 1 loaf of French bread, sliced. 1 cup vegan shrimp, finely chopped. 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 green onions, finely chopped. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon vegan fish sauce. 1 teaspoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon cornstarch. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper. Oil for frying.
Instructions: In a bowl, mix together the chopped vegan shrimp, vegan cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, vegan fish sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and black pepper until well combined. Spread the mixture onto the sliced French bread. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Carefully place the shrimp toast slices, spread side down, into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
