All of last night, the air was filled with a symphony of trees falling and breaking. It was beautiful and eerie at once—like the wintry voice of the Veiled One herself. Today, despite no snow, all things are coated with frost.
A new song has filled the air, as well—the voices of hundreds of birds that have gathered on our property for some reason, as if seeking haven from the winter winds. There have been innumerable different species sharing the area, too, including things like starlings, ravens, buzzards, seagulls, and hummingbirds. We even saw the Bald Eagles who live nearby flying overhead for a while, though I suspect that has more to do with the proliferation of prey birds.
