little bit of a gory twist to the “finding your soulmate by a string tied to you pinky finger” thing, what if it’s more like a vein coming out of your body and you actually couldn’t cut it off because you’d be in excruciating pain if you even tried
good EVENING OC LIKERS!
does anyone else get kinda flustered when nurses compliment their veins during blood draws or when inserting IVs? because i do
pretty sure if me and my partners were on a date and they told me i had nice veins i'd cry or something-
Ok, fuck intrusive thoughts. I don't normally curse, but fuck this.
I have a strong phobia of veins and having circulation cut off. Dates back to elementary school lunchroom shenanigans and idiot boys. For some reason, for the past few days, I've been plagued with thoughts of getting a shot or injection that still has air bubbles in it. Not even necessarily IV injections - I'm talking muscle injections like into the arm or ass. Where an air bubble wouldn't even be a big deal! Just a bit painful!
I do not know what started this cycle. I do not know why I can't move past them. I am not suicidal. I do not know anyone who'd want to harm me. I do not need any shots or injections. But two or three times a day the thoughts will crop back up and I'm stuck curling into a ball and tensing up because it's freaking me out. Ugh, I hate this. Just be done with it already, brain! This is literally the first time in my life it's ever been this bad. I've taken cardiac classes. And sure, there were a few lectures I couldn't handle in person, but I still was able to learn the material well enough to comfortably pass the class. Only to be plagued by these stupid intrusive thoughts out of no where now! When there was no discernable trigger! Not cool.
