“i was going to dress up as a hogwarts student. you know, from harry potter. but then i thought about dressing up as james bond. then someone from the left 4 dead franchise. now, i guess it’s kind of everything i thought of in one costume.” it’d been a while since valentine had the opportunity to wear smart clothes, so he wanted to keep the end product quite stylish. and this was exactly the kind of meandering, ridiculous costume he would’ve cooked up back in the real world: a slice of himself.
“so basically i’m dressed as a super spy, former student of hogwarts, who’s just been from a zombie apocalypse.” he gestured to the marks of red on his chin. “this is either zombie blood or kiss stains. i’m hoping some ladies come and make it the second one.” it was pretty evident that he was tipsy. he said, his words slurring just a tiny bit, “but i... respect women. it’s okay not to kiss me.”

When they’d last interacted, David and Luna got absolutely snockered and decided to go to the Halloween event together. Both too proud to take back a promise, despite it being made under what one may call compromised judgement, the plan was now to meet at David’s cabin before the event.
