A pleasant Death Knight
(OC: Date [24-07-2016] Day[Sunday])
Dear diary… .
A new Sin’dorei showed up at the base today. His name was Iltharian and he seems to be a light user. He seems trustable and decent. We had a pleasant talk before he offered to spar. He seemed to be there in outland during our mission and seemed to know some others in the warband. I had not yet trained that day and sparing him would be beneficial as I have never seen him fight. So we would be a new opponent. Not something you get often in a spar after you face everybody. During the fight I could have sworn I heard him muttering a prayer but I wasn’t sure. Anyway he seemed a bit slow and I managed to land more hits on him then him on me. He managed to knock me down by throwing his weight against mine whilst my footing was off and was offering to help me up before I could get to my feet and react. Looking back, I need to make sure I don’t get knocked down, but I inflicted more harm. Well would have with a real sword. Though his armour was good and would resist my attempts to strike him in a real fight. He had to leave so I went to train by myself.
A few hours later he returned and we talked some more. After a while the female death knight called Velinth arrived. The three of us spoke about how dangerous the explosives around the base were before Iltharian left.
As far as Death Knights go, Velinth is by far high up on my list in favor. I have met some nasty and cruel Death Knights but she wasn’t like that. Well not to her allies. It is still clear that she longs for combat and to destroy those she fights. She died in the defense of Silvermoon during the fall. She gave her life so I and all the others could live. I made sure to thank her for this. She would be some of the few who died that day who I can thank, so I did. She is one of many I fight for now. She is one of many who died to keep the rest safe. She admitted she doesn’t –live- as much a pleasant life now, but talking to her helped keep her mind off it. We shared stories of our past and she told me what it was like to live as she did. I hoped that by understanding her, I could understand my father better. She tells me that the fear of going back to family after the change is common.
I asked her about my leadership and she thought I had done things like that many times before. She was surprised to hear it was my first mission. She said she would be willing to give her feedback if she thinks I am doing a bad job. I said it was welcome. I don’t want to be doing a bad job when I am in charge of people’s lives. There is no room for failure. We parted ways when they said they wanted to visit the forge. Shortly after, the troll Shadow Hunter from outland was at the base. They wanted to see Ara’ni. So I will let her know he is looking for her.
For now I shall rest. I have more training tomorrow if I am to be ready for the looming threat of demons.
Yours faithfully
Irelia Dawn Bringer
