Berrisom Essence BB sample - ofc I got round to trying this after it was discontinued, but it's actually quite good, nice tone match and wears well. Better than other Berrisom base makeup I’ve tried.

Hiddencos Americano sheet mask, my last one, unsure if I'll repurchase, it’s got serious gimmicky appeal, smells fab and hydrates some, but the ingredients are so-so and the last one’s fit was not that great.

Lumene Lähde Pure Arctic Miracle 3 in 1 micellar cleansing water, a staple with good price/quality ratio, will rp when the huge Uriage blue cap micellar starts running out. (I think Uriage is my #1, but I have to drag my sizeable arse over to France to get it at good prices, so the go-to cheap alternative is Lumene.)

Lumi (#Luminordic) Bio-Klinik Restorative Moisturizer (the label on the pump bottle was chipping and smearing everything, so I took it off)... it is good for my face, but it pills under make-up a little - quite a letdown considering the hefty price, won't repurchase.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% & Zinc 1%: am aware that people question the formula's effectiveness (as in, say that there is actually too much niacinamide), but it works for me, helps to even out redness, and although I don’t see huge impact on my pores, still a likely rp (and I already started my 3rd bottle, cos I bought 2).

Natura Estonica Bio Ginseng & Acai Power Lifting Face Serum: cheaptastic (4€!) and surprisingly good, rich, creamy serum for colder seasons, already rp-d. Loads of decent ingredients in there, which I can slather on liberally since it is so cheap.

And finally, Velvizo Marine Hydrating Wrinkle Repair Cream, as in, Big Guns cream with so many good ingredients that makes my face so comfortable and happy. Would like to repurchase, but it is pricy and a bit hard to find, have to wait a bit and budget for it.

The difference between a good and a great sheet mask: a good sheet mask makes your skin look and feel a little more hydrated. A great sheet mask, on the other hand, makes you look years younger, gives you the plump, glowing skin of someone who gets 9 hours of excellent sleep every night, drinks enough water, eats obnoxiously well on the regular, and never worries about their finances.

Used my last Velvizo Lifting Renewal mask this morning. I should pitch and write something extra just to order more of these.

Ok, the Berrisom Essence Multi Pen is just irredeemably terrible. Used it today for the first time since August, as a quick fix in order to look halfway presentable whilst running a few errands, but I can’t with its lack of lasting power. It dissolves into a semi-worn-off mess in 3 hours tops, meaning from there on I’ll look like I’ve had a rough 12-hour day that involved sweating and drinking. I’ve had enough, should just throw it away. Coincidentally, saw ArtDeco’s Perfect Teint brush pen concealers & illuminators on sale for 8 € today, and got a new one. I am v. happy with my main base make-up product these days, the Velvizo bb cream, but it will never have ArtDeco’s portability factor.

Other purchases today were more necessary than that, but sadly, I’m on a very tight budget again from here till the end of the month.

I’ve had some extra expenses because of redecorating and travelling lately, but still, am increasingly concerned that I’m just generally not good with money.

Uhoh uhoh, the week after I placed my most expensive skincare order ever, mostly consisting of 2 Velvizo items, TesterKorea puts the entire brand on sale at 35-40% off.

In case anyone’s been curious, my favourite products so far are their sunscreen, Marine Multiaction Collagen bb cream (but you will need an oil cleanser, or at the very least, lots of micellar water, to get it off, that shit is decidedly not water-soluble) and green sheet masks. The blue and white masks are good too (purple one is a bit smelly and weird), the hydrating softener toner is ok, but not super-exciting (have used it for 1,5 months or so, and I can’t tell if it is doing much tbh, also, I would not be surprised if some people hated the lemony fragrance and compared it to bathroom cleaning products). I loved the Marine Spa Regenerating ampoule too, before realizing the low-key skin irritation issues I’d been having were down to triethanolamine; this limits my future Velvizo experiments to strictly the products with none of that, thankfully all the ingredients are listed on TK (and I also put them on CosDNA, because it pleased my neurotic self).

Triethanolamine, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.

Why the f are you in the innocent and cute-looking Holika Holika 99% aloe gel? Why the f are you in the Berrisom hyaluronic80 serum that I have a full backup bottle of? Why the f are you in the Berrisom toning essence? Why the f were you in the hair gel I’ve been using to tame frizz for years with, and why did I not make the connection to the odd little spots I’ve been getting on my hairline sooner? Why the f did it take me so long to figure out you irritate my skin? And why the f are you in the Velvizo regenerating ampoule that I’m almost out of and loved so much, but now realize is causing the same type of irritated little red spots?

Well, now that I’ve established my intolerance to it, and found all the Velvizo ingredients online, I’ll save myself some grief and monetary damage by avoiding blind-buying the products with TEA, but still.

ETA: and it’s in the Dove body lotion I dislike/am trying to use up just to not be wasteful. Hurrrrrgh.

Notes on a random sheet mask: Velvizo Marine Spa Vital Mask: Lifting Renewal (the green one, yes, finally!)

What it says: “Helps to replenish the moisturizing and nutrition into the skin deeply.” And on the back, “Specially formulated Hydrolyzed Collagen, EGF, Adenosine, Acetyl HexaPeptide-8, polyphenol complex deeply care your skin. Hypo-allergenic cellulose mask gives elasticity and firming effect on your skin and makes it younger and silky.”  The advertised effects I can find online are: “elastic supply, lifting effect, superior hydration”. They also point out it is free from silicone, artificial flavors (fragrance?), mineral oil, and paraben, and that the main ingredients are adenosine, human oligopeptide-1,sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed collagen and acetyl hexapeptide-8.

A thing to note about Velvizo masks are the price differences: the blue and white are cheaper, the green is a bit more expensive - it comes in a 6 mask package, and the blue and white each have 8 at the same price (so the green is about 2 $ a piece, while the blue and white are 1.50ish). The purple, which I liked the least, also comes in a package of 6, and is the most expensive at about 2.40 $ (all current TesterKorea prices).

This is a 25 g package again (like the blue and white, while the purple is 29 g). The essence is clear, slightly yellowish, and had a mild, slightly sour smell when I first opened the package. (I could not tell there was any smell to it when patch testing, it’s that light.) There is a little bit of extra essence, but most of it is absorbed into the luxurious-feeling, soft, fluffy mask sheet (no dripping!). And the sheet is their best one yet - it’s a different cut, the eye holes are normal, not too close together, and there are no fold-down “eye flaps” that all the other three had. It feels really nice on. Also, the extra essence I put on my neck and chest is not sticky compared to the other masks I’ve used recently.

The recommended use is 20-30 min, it easily lasts that too. After removing, feeling super-drenched in moisture in a good, refreshed kind of way. I hope the after-effects are good too, since it’s was so nice to use. Would not mind buying more.
