When I began working with Set, I knew him as the boundary pusher. Yet the longer we worked together, he showed me his gentle, nurturing side. He was the one to tell me it’s okay to rest, to pace myself. There is something profound and ironic having a god of chaos telling you to relax

This is very much how I get Him as well- for the uninitiated, in the walls of the Kemetic Orthodoxy, I am a child of Ra and Set. :D 💛

I very much align with the epithet, “Set, the Lord of Life, at the Prow of the Barque of Ra.” Other than relating to my name as a Shemsu (“Ituiemhat”, lit “My Two Father’s are At the Prow”), His nourishing and life-giving side was apparent even from the very beginning.

I always say that there is no One more aligned to teach coping and healing from chaos, than the Lord of it. I’d daresay He understands it well, and I’m glad that He can help you there!

As far as egyptian gods to draw I would love to ser your take on Mehen

I’m not even jokin’, Mehen has been on the brain for the past month and most definitely in the queue of things to draw! :D

I visited a big city recently, and I thought Osiris would be distant, because I usually live near farmland and I expected the city to be too noisy and developed for him. But as I walked down alleyways I heard him calling through the lichen and moss and weeds sprouting out of the concrete, and I felt him when my friend told me about working on archaeological digs in the city. He never makes me feel like I've been abandoned.

That is beautiful- truly, the Gods are with us even it the places one would least expect Them to be, at first- we just have to open our hearts to recieve Them, because They are calling us, too. 💛
