I just finished Nate's Fucking 30K Word Story ( https://archiveofourown.org/works/13963971?view_adult=true#main ) and I have never cried more over a fictional character in class in my entire fucking life
It was such a wild ride reading this over the past few days, and the dynamics used to evaluate how Chara felt throughout the entirety of their short life hit home real hard and honestly I couldn't be more proud,,
Not to mention the use of monsters not usually seen in-game, like Dr. Pallas. Holy shit, they were incredibly well developed and thought out as characters, even if it wasn't previously thought out. W.D. Gaster's appearance was surprising too.
From setting up how Chara's name was pronounced, to giving a new field of background I never would have thought of before, to expressing Chara's days in the underground in a new light. This 38K story is everything I wanted the before of Undertale to be and more.
You see? This?? Is why i look up to Nate so much, because they have such fantastic work that i hope to achieve the level of how fucking amazing they are some day???
