Probably the peanuts were roasted too long/not long enough. No easy fix for that. Do you know any dogs?

or spread it on some long and skinny pinecones to hang from a tree as a suet-feed for the birds. (I mean, I'm sure you could spread it on all sorts of things in order to feed the birbs. This time of year they appreciate the protein, esp if it's cold where you are)
Sadly my life is dogless, but that’s a cool idea for the birbs. It’s not so cold here but it’ll still be a while before all their bugs to eat return.
