Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested by federal authorities Saturday in Miami, according to U.S. Marshals Service.

Apparently they are being prosecuted for additional sexual offenses:

The CPS has decided to prosecute Andrew Tate, 39, with seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. The CPS has decided to prosecute Tristan Tate, 38, with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

So because of various issues I have not been able to get myself a new computer for a long time. A LONG time. As in, I was using the last one since 2012. It still worked! It was kind of dragging and I couldn't update software anymore and getting constant "you need to upgrade" alerts, but it worked. Okay, it was pretty much begging to be shot, while doing the minimum amount required to keep it around.

I had been intending to upgrade since at least the pandemic and I kept just not doing it. It was just too much work, basically.

But I finally pulled the trigger! New Alienware setup with a nice new monitor. Unfortunately all my peripherals no longer work including my great speaker setup, so I have to replace those, but it is pretty nice to have a major task off my list.

Wildfires in northern Ontario force First Nations to flee

Several wildfires are forcing members of a number of First Nations to flee their homes in northern Ontario.

“I had time to run home and pack a bag and get to the beach where the boats were waiting,” said a member of Namaygoosisagagun First Nation (Collins). “We literally had minutes to get on the boats and flee before it took our town. “Once we left my house finally after packing what I could in a pack sack, the fire was right behind our place. We had to run to the beach and once we got there, it was only moments before the fire had jumped over the (train) track and was coming for us.”
