With the existence of the metaverse, Jodie could go literally anywhere to make sure he had enough supplies to remain alive. Which is why it went to a new city in a new universe every time--xe would never risk being predicable. If Well ever found out he had habits, it would be a simple matter to catch Jodie off guard.
But it's in these cities that Jodie is most on-guard. People were complicated, but no trader would refuse gold. Admittedly, partly stolen gold, partly bounty money, but gold nonetheless. Today, Jodie was in one of those cities in some Faerun in a universe that was not his--Neverwinter was always crowded, and with the guards everywhere he could go unnoticed. So long as it kept the armor on, helmet and all.
He had just finished his 'supply run,' and needed to leave for his own realm. But it was tricky finding somewhere secluded enough to open a portal. So Jodie had trekked a good while into the woods, resting in a clearing for a few minutes. Precious moments of calm that he allowed himself rarely. Here he now sat under a tree's shade, helmet and bag at xems side, in the middle of nowhere.
