“vicious” theory time
i just finished reading Vicious when i realised sth (tell me if it was already said otherwise or someone noticed already)
Victor
- asked for the pain to stop -> physical but feeling
- still has feelings but they’re faded
- normal body except for the chronic pain
- can control pain -> feeling but in the body
Eli
- asked (God) for strength -> body
- has no feelings (and an obsession about “God’s” mission of executing the ExtraOrdinary)
- his body is impossible to kill and regenerates instantly
Sydney
- asked for a second chance -> purely about feeling
- has all feelings but her body has problems (cold, slower pulse, grows/matures slower)
- able to give people second chances
Eli was sure that something goes missing every time an ExtraOrdinary gets created.
Maybe he was right.
My theory is that depending on what they concentrated when dying - feelings (mind) or body - the opposite gets affected, as if the will of survival which guarantees the ExtraOrdinary abilities, neglects the other part.
Victor thought about the pain, to stop it. Pain is a feeling but one that you feel in your body. This way, both got affected but not as much as a single one would. He still has emotions (faded, yes, but has, and he had psychopathic tendencies (in ways of thinking) even before his death) and his body is almost normal (except for the pain).
Eli was thinking about getting stronger - he neglected the mind. His body is now perfect, but he has no emotions. There’s also the fact that he begged God for this gift and then got obsessed with Him.
Sydney focused only on her feelings, on her mind, on the hope for her sister to come back for her. This way, her body was neglected - lower temperature, slower pulse, problems with growth.
I think it makes sense, do you?
important: i didn't read “vengenful” yet
Mitch: if I hit myself and it hurts, am I weak or strong?
Dol: *barks* (strong)
Sydney: weak
Victor, looking up from his parents' book: an idiot is what you are
