OK. The city's sinking
It's the ocean that's rising around it. Thanks to the UN's landmark accord signed by 175 countries last week, you may still have time to see Venice-- without scuba equipment. Today we visit St Mark’s Square. We wait in line at the Bell Tower (man, it's windy up there). We DON'T wait in line to get into Saint Mark’s Basilica where usually. And, we check out the oldest wine bar in the city, where Casanova was known to frequent. Then I explore the flooding problem in Venice, when high tide can put the square under as much as a meter of water. When this happens they put walking platforms across the square so you’re still able to walk from one side to another. Get to Venice while you still can!

Was thinking about a story idea in the shower today for the future book Civil Unrest (formally Venice is Sinking) and I couldn't get this snippet of conversation out of my head.

Mrs. Marie Davon is in a rad group called Powerkompany with her musical/life partner Andrew, who is way hotter than Vincent Gallo. You should go check them out and their albums, which are great: http://www.powerkompany.com/ Meanwhile, Lucas has a few things in the fire, most notably Croup Vandemar, a project he just launched with BC Fortenberry, who you may remember as "Bassist" from the final "SXSW Tour." Jeremy lives and works in Seattle with his adorable child and wife (that "adorable" applies to both, even though Anna probably doesn't want to be called "adorable," deal with it, okay?! Sheesh!). Steve is...in Canada? Steve, we miss you! Alex is roaming the earth, as per usual.
