The Rebirth (Introduction to New Venitas AU)
That’s all he felt. A feeling of tumbling down into darkness. He felt himself constantly fade since the graveyard. He was trapped in a void with no way out.
Something was wrong last time. He was...Corrupted. Tainted by a darker one than he. His balance was gone. Did he ever have it to begin with? No. He was never given a chance. He was what could have been, but what snuffed out by the Master.
But he was pieced enough to gain power. More power than even the Master could have dreamed of. The light half and the dark half, they were still all connected. He felt their powers, and knew that they were shared. Their skills, fostered by two completely different teachers were at his disposal. Their memories all accessible through the heart they all shared.
The only true difference between himself, the light and the dark was the catalyst.
The X-Blade. Though it was only complete for a moment, it wasn’t enough to secure that battle. But now they had merged...And the fallen blade was his once more. He could see it in all it’s glory. He raised a dark gloved hand to take it. It would all be his once more as his fingers clasped around the handle.
And now he began to rise.
There was balance this time. He felt himself take shape like he did before. It was different this time. The dark had been resting and the light was in full control now. But that control would be lost very soon. There heart wasn’t the only thing that was shared.
He opened golden eyes, his Keyblade in his hand. He was in the boy’s room. He looked down. He was still garbed in the armor of the darker half. He looked in the mirror, his golden eyes flashed back at him.
But what to do now? There were so many questions. He had seen flickers of what had transpired since his fall. The world was a whole new place now, but did he now have a place in it? What was he exactly? The Master was not here to dictate his purpose anymore. He was free to do as he pleased.
He looked out the window. It was time to go. He opened a portal into the Lanes Between and stepped through it, desperate to test his powers and find his purpose.
