I love Purple Haze as a Stand because of what it means for Fugo. Like it's not subtle about what it represents, but it's so good. You have a character who bottles up his rage till it boils over to destructive consequences and the manifestation of his soul takes that to the extreme.
Fugo, as a young teenager, has his Stand awakened after basically ruining his life with his anger, and gets that. Fugo prides himself in being intelligent- it's one of the only things he has, after all- but deep down, that is how he sees himself.
Even how neurotic Purple Haze is about cleanliness- cleaning itself it makes the issue worse and hurts itself in the process- is representative of how Fugo sees himself. As someone who is, deep down, unclean, and who is caught up in the constant cycle of anger when all it's ever done for him is destroy his life.
