This is Cathy, and I have some good and bad news for you.

First, the bad news.

After years of paying for this social network myself, first as a safe D/s community and then rebooting it as an Erotic Hypnosis community, It has become obvious due to various factors, that this network, as it is set up, is not working anymore. I am very proud to have played hostess some of the best conversations and best members anywhere, and much of what I learned here has helped me progress both as a webmaster and practitioner of hypnosis. I regret none of it. 

However....I am well-aware that Ning's interface did not really keep pace with the evolution of social networking, and that Facebook has essentially usurped most such communities. Let's face it, people are on Facebook all day, and its far easier to carry on conversations and discussions in a place you are already logged into all day long, rather than come to an "away" site. Ning has slowly been unveiling their new framework called "Ning 3.0" but unfortunately, Hitomi and I tested it out and believe it's still not going to work. Additionally, Ning will be raising their monthly rate to $25, and...no thanks. 

Sorry guys, but The Spiral Staircase will be closing down very soon. :(

Now, the good news.

At the same time as we depart from ning, prostores, who has long hosted my store, is also going out of business, so we decided that the best solution to both problems would be to simply combine both my store and community into one place: My website, VenusHypno.Com. My site has mostly functioned as a blogsite with basic information about me and my work, but as we built it on wordpress, it was naturally easy to add both the store and community to it, thus bringing it all together in one place, which is less expensive for me and just makes more sense. While it won't be a general "Hypno Community", and will focus more on my own work and following, you are all of course invited to join us for free and register today. You will have some time (though, please do not delay) to save any content from Spiral Staircase and even re-upload to VenusHypno, as you will find our new home to actually be nicer on the eye, and much better organizationally, as well as functionally.

So, with that, I cordially invite you to stay with us as we embark on a new adventure, but if you won't be joining us, take care, be safe and have fun!  I want to thank every admin and member who helped grow and maintain this site since its inception.
