I imagine most of the story will take place on the north? And it has been established that it is very cold

Idk how many similarities faerings share with reptiles, but I'd like to imagine they also have the cold blooded thing of getting slower in the cold

That being said, how would the RO's react to an MC being more slugish and sleepier as it gets colder? Just, curling up on the nearest patch of sunlight, or body heat, doesn't even realize they're doing it

Would Cirrus be bothered by it as well once they get to the north?

(As a person who hates the cold myself, it sometimes gets to the point where every bone in my body just hurts, im from the southern hemisphere, it's not even winter yet and im suffering, i cant be blamed for wanting comfort from the biting pain of winter)

yes, most of the story will be in the North!! faerings don't hibernate or have cold blood as such, but they definitely tend to get lazier as the season becomes colder (but to be fair, who doesn't). side note, i also hate winter SO MUCH so i totally get you.

Cirrus: lazy #1. as we know, Cirrus isn't the busiest of people. he tends to laze about even more; by the warmth of a fire or next to you. two faerings huddling together for heat is not uncommon at all! Cirrus would claim they need to hibernate or "recuperate"...but from what?! what could they possibly be doing that is so strenuous...

Emilio: lazy #2, he sleeps in even when the sun rises at the crack of dawn. you would think he'd be used to the cold, living in the North his whole life. anything to avoid doing princely things, of course...he'll let you warm up wherever you needed to.

Nia: although Nia tends to be hustling and bustling, the winter months makes her begrudgingly tired. having you by her side, also feeling the same way, brings her some solace. even if she's indoors with you, she would still urge you to play board games with her or sew or do SOMETHING. once you're down, of course!

Vera: unfortunately one of those people that wakes up at the asscrack of dawn every single day no matter the season nor circumstances. she would give you the space to relax, not forcing you to come along if you feel sluggish. she's got lots of warm furs in her possession, and you're welcome to take advantage of them.

Charles: seasonal depression GETS this poor man. he hates the cold. he hates wearing warm clothing and layers just to go outside for a walk. if he has an excuse (you) to stay inside with him to cuddle, life is good. life should always be like this. he becomes so pale in the winter he swears he reflects light like the snow itself. inside with him, it is.

About the poly

The poly’s won’t be implemented unless our character actively engages in it right? You said something about cirrus becoming fond of one of the twins but if we’re on their romance route we won’t see anything romantic happening between cirrus and the twin unless encouraged by mc? Same for Vera and Emilio?

Nothing against poly, in fact I’m literally in an exclusive poly relationship right now lmao. I just dislike when it’s kinda forced in games and prefer when I have the choice for the RO’s to be all romantic with each other or not if I’m on one of their routes.

the poly routes are completely optional and will not occur unless chosen in game. Cirrus will not romance any other characters unless the MC brings up that they themselves like one of the twins, and then Cirrus will agree! same thing for Vera and Emilio; none of the characters will romance one another otherwise :)

Ooh so the poly Vera-Emilio-MC will be a triad (everyone involved with everyone)? And the same are the others possible polys not in the game?

Would anyone be open in a V poly (in which MC is romantically involved with both the ROs but the 2 ROs are platonic between themselves)?

yes!! the optional poly route with Vera + Emilio is a triad! for the other mentioned poly routes in the original post (here) they would also be a triad (Vera/MC/Charles, Emilio/MC/Charles, Cirrus/MC/Emilio, Cirrus/MC/Nia). again i want to note that other poly routes besides Emilio/Vera/MC are still subject to being included in the game.

i am unsure if any of the ROs would be open to a V poly, as all the characters (minus Cirrus) are already friends with one another (so it might get messy etc etc) but it's interesting to think about! i would say Cirrus would be the most open out of the cast, they're definitely the most chill lol :) on the other hand i think Charles would definitely get upset in a situation like that, he gets jealous v easily LOL

Hii!! I love this IF so much; it has such an interesting and amazing storyline!💞 I was wondering how the RO's would feel about an MC who bakes/cooks for them? Or how they would feel about an RO who'd learn their favorite song and sing it for them? Thank you so much, I hope you have a wonderful day!💕

Cirrus: they can bake themselves so they would LOVE a partner who can join them! even if you can't he'll be more than happy for you to sit and watch. they would also love an mc who can sing for them.

Vera: surprisingly a really good cook, and would encourage you to make her family recipes with her. she might be kind of surprised if an mc started singing for her LOL but she’d rock with it.

Emilio: for the sake of both of your healths, you should probably cook for you and him. Emilio cannot cook. not one bit. if anything you make is at the very least edible, it’s still better than what he could do. also would love to sing with you…he can actually play the guitar so..

Nia: would sit all pretty on the counter as you cooked for her. cooking genes do not run in the Lovell family, what can i say! but she’s cute! so it’s okay! she would love for you to sing for her too. would probably cry.

Charles: he can cook himself, but it’s very…suspicious. would be slightly jealous that you’re better than him but the food is so good it doesn’t even matter. he cannot sing. at all. so hearing you sing his favourite song would definitely brighten his day.

What’re the ros like when they’re jealous and how would you rank them from the most to least jealous/possessive

Charles - literally goes batshit crazy will claw at wooden floors and rock on his heels back and forth if he's jealous. absolutely 100% will bring it up with you...king of overthinking so you just have to reassure him.

Cirrus (VERY CLOSE SECOND) - will not go as bonkers as Charles but you'll be in store for a very long and extensive interrogation session. pretty obvious they're upset; there's a wrinkle between their eyebrows that's not usually present. will smooch you afterwards as compensation though.

Nia - uncomfortable but able to let go of her jealousy for the most part. if she really sees something that's bothering her she will bring it up!! she'll probably ask for more kisses if she's really feeling whiny.

Emilio - same kind of deal as Nia except he is the king of ngaf. as far as he's concerned he's yours unless stated otherwise. gets ticked off if anyone touches you though.

Vera - truly the most nonchalant out of the bunch. stresses communication to avoid conflicts but...you're hers. does not get jealous.

my thoughts on character relationships in the cast

fun fact for yall: before i made Vanguard, there were some characters in the cast that were going to be explored between them. these pairings are not canonical anymore but i wanna share them because why not?? again yall this is NOT GOING TO BE IN THE GAME ive just explored their relationships w each other prior to making Vanguard!! just a fun post, dont take too seriously :]

Vera x Emilio. there’s a post somewhere on here that states they had a previous situationship and yes this is true but they’ve ended whatever they had. alsooooo if you haven’t seen the post where i go more in depth, i recommend it!Vanguard takes place after they confirm with each other they are strictly platonic. i have several past works (that if there’s interest, i can post maybe) about these two. some that are um. perhaps not the safest for work. anyways.

Nia x Kiera, i just thought they would be cute idk!! Kiera would love that sweet princess so hard dear god please…

this one might be kind of surprising and maybe random to u guys, but Vio x Charles. yup. also have a piece about them too! that is wholesome, surprisingly!!

here’s some other pairings that i liked, but weren’t gonna be canon:

Vera x Nia. Nia would say “i can fix her” and she would!!!!

Cirrus x Emilio…im sad Emilio’s not in the story yet so you don’t know his personality all that well, but from the snippets on this blog i hope you can understand that he’d love Cirrus’ height. ahem.

Charles x Emilio x Vera. i have some stuff written about the three of them, and I’ll probably post it because it’s platonic and relevant to the plot of Vanguard.

Cirrus x Vera, they would compliment each other surprisingly well. Cirrus would find her intelligence super hot (i mean me too).

anyways i was just rereading some of my old works and stumbled across scrapped pieces of these characters. i personally think it’s important to explore your characters’ relationships with each other, romantic and platonic, as it makes them more believable to the reader. because why would they drop everything they’re doing and run for the mc, right? again, if there’s enough interest, i can post these old works onto this blog, or maybe on my side account. i’ve been yearning to write so sorry for all the blublub.
