When I was a child I always wondered why grandma's in jokes and stories always a sound.
Whether it was "oy" or "auch" or something more continent heavy..... like "mmm"
Now I am in my thirties and I've started making the "outch" that I Inherited from my grandmother, who Inherited it from her own Luxembourgian mother.
And its both a sound of mild frustration and an aural gift from someone love. And some mornings, I find myself make that noise and instead of focusing on the dishes in the sink or the laundry to.be taken upstairs, I get to remember my grandmother instead.

I feel bad for my future partner. Because I have a few verbal ticks that happen when I see certain live animals and they are usually me just shouting on the top of lungs or making weird animals sounds like an excited child, then I immediately go back to being how I was before. Its very much like Doug from Up going "SQUIRREL!" For example: Chickens "chick-kEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!" Geese: "GoOOOOoOOOOOse!/ GEEEEEEEESE! ! woo-ONK! woo-ONK! Rabbit: "BUNNEH!" Deer:
"DUR!" Cat: "KEET-ten!" Turtle: "TURRRTLE ! TURRTLE! TURRTLE! You are turtley enough for the turtle club!" Bluejay: with Vocal fry "JAAAAAY!" Crow: "AH! AH! Ah!" Pigeons: -just starts cooing- House sparrows committing property damage: "FUCKING ASSHOLES!"
Anyway, please tell me I'm not the only one who has this. Whatever this is...

Is there a word or a phrase you use (or overuse) all the time, and are seemingly unable to get rid of? If not, what’s the one that drives you crazy when others use it?
YO. I am 100% guilty on this; I have way too many verbal ticks. Also “texting ticks”. They’re slightly different but definitely within the same vein.

I have an annoying speaking habit where I say 'okay' after virtually everything "I'll get right on that okay" "haha these smell just like the Chinese orphans that made them okay!!!!" "it's going pretty well okay" "I can't believe this okay" "let's go see Paranorman okay?" I even say it after I finish laughing like ok
70. Of all the teenager verbal ticks, "you know" is the only one that makes me want to punch the person.
