I just noticed something trying to figure out exactly how toothless' tail works...

This is the tail at the end of the first movie

This is the auto control gift of the nightfury tail

This! Is in race to the edge and ROB/DOB respectively... it is a hybrid mechanism where both tootless and hiccup can have the control...

And we are back to fully hiccup in movie 2

Do thats why everyone in their mother can ride toothless no problem in the series...

And I always wondered there are instences where the tail fins should move asymetrically but the auto control tail cant do that, imo thats why hiccup made it hybrid so toothess is also not in danger even tho its not used very much, toothless does not fly on his own in these shows even tho the tailfin is one that he should be able to use to fly without hiccup .

I was watching Luca with one of my close friends who came to visit me and stay a few days. And while we were watching I said "this movie is so queer coded" and she literally said "why you gotta make everything queer?" with such disdain in her voice a point that it made me feel defensive even. And then around the end when Luca was told like he could go to school and what not she said "this movie can also be about like equal opportunities in education" and i said "yes that is a topic in the movie but its not the core theme" she responded with "why does everything have to have a theme things can just be" and I dont want to argue with her about that but seeing everything you watch/read/listen etc like that must be such a sad existence, like shallow and boring too...

I thought I was safe. Idk maybe bc we've been also butting heads this whole stay.

For context she will read subtext to ship characters or stuff like but somehow when it comes to any queerness that is not pretty boys haveing tongue wrestling contests she is blind to it which makes me even more mad.

This is a Brian Orser appreciation post

I am forever in awe or Brian Orser, he is one of those people I am so grateful that exists in the sport. Not only was he so prolific in his skating career, being the first man to land a triple axel in olympics then going on to lad 2 triple axels the next games (and still not getting gold due to compulsory figurs) but he went on to give everything he had to the sport raising athletes that went on to shape the sport figure skating as we know it (and despite his achilles heeel of compulsory figures raising athletes with insane skating skills and artistry).

Hell he has coached more than half of my favorite figure skaters: YUZURU HANYU, Javier Fernandes, Jason Brown, Adam Rippon, YUMA KIM, Evgenia Medvedeva, Cha Jun-hwan the list goes on...

I dont know man I am just so glad that man exists it is so hard watching olympics without a glimpse of him in the side cheering his skaters on so far, Idk if he has any current skaters that are goaing, some of his previous pupils are in the olympics this year but not coached by him...

Okay i am studying cortical regions and i came to primary visual area (brodmann 17) V1 and im reading about cortical blindness and it made me go ahh arthur lester.

So hear me out, head cannon time. What if John does not have his hand hand: he has his right motor cortex for his hand left motor cortex for his leg (also somatosensory) and his primary visual are. He has parts of Arthurs brain.

So something funny about cortical blindness is that the pathway between the retina and the amygdala and limbic system are intact. So if you tried to punch Arthur he can dodge as long as his amygdala perceives it as danger. This explains to me all the “here”s and “arthur be careful” or “arthur run”s the man cant see but he can sense the danger.

The only thing that is not in line with this hc is that he knows he cant see, which is something cortical blindness patients usually dont acknowledge. Like they will make up what they see based on other stimuli. But if you knew Arthur was blind and asked him what he sees and he responds with what John says bc he thinks you dont know he is blind then yeah I would diagnose cortical blindness not peripheral…

I should send this to my friend who tried to diagnose him in season 5. Was so sure it was tuberculosis (same). Being med students and listening malevolent is an experience.

I'm not a casual person.

I was in a field of flowers reading Wings of Starlight, right?so I look up the flowers because it is the way I am. The flowers around me are called "Veronica persica" persian speedwells. They bloom in late winter and early spring.

So, I picked some of the petals of the ground because they drop petals upon impact, so there were a lot since we had strong winds that whole week. So I collected them and dried them in my book. Because what better representation is there for Queen Clarion and Lord Milori's love than a flower that bridges their seasons, a flower that they can both share.

Today, after several days of drying them and pressing them, I made a little book mark with them to use for the book.

So yeah I think I am incapable of doing things casually.
