Hello, person whom doesn’t have receipts, have a seat. You could be right about Svetlana and Yvon’s marriage not being legal, but the US does not check international marriage filings when filing our own - that’s actually what many bigamy cases are rooted back to - and she wanted to stay in this country and have some agency in her own life, so, conceivably, she could have easily entered in to unlawful ‘legal’ marriages with Mickey and V (retroactively illegal, and void, once her marriage to Yvon is exposed). Yvon threatened to cleaver her fingers off if she told people that they’re married, because her marrying Americans to stay in the country is a scam that he is now taking advantage of, and, if it got found out that her US marriages weren’t legal, they’d both be sent back to Russia to go to prison (though, depending on what happens tomorrow, there might not be much of a difference than staying here). ... As far as Ian and Trevor laughing at the ‘disgusting’ thought of bottoming goes, “I’m a top. ... I’m not getting fucked in the ass!”/“I am, too, ... neither am I” do not have inflections of understandable discomfort (I’d consider an argument for Ian’s defense, but his responses being heard as some one who is uncomfortable is justifiable only from the stance that he’s more of the responder in this moment, so that leaves Trevor to be even more cocky for being so assuming), but they do have inflections of the superiority complexes that both characters (especially Trevor) have exhibited outside of this scene.
... Now, regarding me not watching the show any more, I have been here from Day 1, and have rightfully praised it all along the way (you’ve been fanning the show wrong/not long enough if you don’t know I’m not some one you come at for being negative and to also think that’s actually me trying to brag), so I earned the right to be critical, and want better, of some thing that I’ve been invested in for almost six years. ... This post kind of has perfect timing. I’m not at all satisfied with who I’m voting for tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not going to vote for her, and completely forfeit/give up on democracy (*lives in a key swing state and can’t risk with the threat of fascism*). I’m going to be protesting various policies she’ll put forth after she’s elected. ... I can want more from a TV show that used to be amazing.
