Well, for starters, you and Kenny are basically the only people close tohim. So automatically he knows that you guys are gonna aid Kyle, a.k.a. you guys are threats. So he breaks you down emotionally enough so that you won't want to help Kyle anymore, and then he goes ahead and continues on with his plan. As for the connections, simply put, he's been watching you two for a while. He's probably been studying your daily activities, your tics, then slowly pieced together what your weakest points are. It's kinda obvious.
