Editing At Last

I got my editor’s notes for Please Don’t Tell My Parents I’m A Giant Monster back today.  Huge, huge emotional relief.  They’ve moved so slowly and limitedly on my recent books, I was afraid they had stopped being interested in me, but this one came with a compliment about the writing.

So, the next Supervillain book should be up for preorder before too long.  A month, maybe?  And everyone can read about a sweet young woman whose super power makes her fragile, and the evil artifact trying to turn her into a dragon.  It’s my sweetest and most romantic book so far.

ADDENDUM - I think it’s a good sign when the editing process goes slowly because I’m enjoying rereading sections of my own book.

Vermeil vs Gold-Filled/Gold-Plated

Vermeil is silver coated with gold. In the old days the term was “gilded silver” or “silver gilt”. Another way to describe it as a silver based metal plated with a thin layer of gold.

For marketing purposes Vermeil sounds more suave. Gold plating on silver is not as durable as entirely gold. However, the thicker a top layer of gold is in a Vermeil piece the more durable it should be.

Gold plated layer on silver is measured in Karats such as 14K, 18K Etc. Know that the purer the plated gold layer surface is the softer it is and therefore scratches more easily.

Gold-Filled and Gold-Plated Just as Vermeil is silver coated with gold,gold filled/gold plated are metals other then silver that are coated with gold.It is that simple.
