   “Sort of? He challenged my pickup line abilities,” she confessed with a shrug, giving a sheepish sort of smile towards Vetra and stepping in a little more into the room, instead of just awkwardly hanging out in the doorway. “So, Liam’s to blame but the line is all my doing. Gotta use the trusty classics!” She laughed softly, feeling almost immediately better seeing how this hadn’t ended up in the hell zone, like she’d been fearing.

   They were on this ship together, dangit; the last thing she needed was things getting awkward between the crew. Especially herself and a crew member. Oh man, that would definitely not be good.

   “Hope that wasn’t...too awkward? Or bad...or anything?” Camila winced, shrugging a little. “I know it was sorta out of the blue, but I... Honestly, I trusted you the most with this.” Liam set her up to this, so that was a no go. There was no way she felt comfortable enough going to Gil, Drack, Cora, or Lexi. Kallo or Suvi would’ve brought the risk of a third party adding to her embarrassment.... She would’ve sooner lived permanently on Kadara than flirt with Jaal (if it went wrong or he didn’t like it or anything negative it would feel like the end, for sure)...

   So the most trustworthy being on this ship was brought to Vetra Nyx herself. At least here, it felt like they could brush this off and it’d all be good later down the line, no problem.    Is this too serious of a way to think about a dumb bet with Liam? Yes, it absolutely is. Doesn’t stop Camila from overthinking it regardless, though.
